I like him as a prospect. He's a good athlete who can cross-train at multiple positions. -

Boom … another development player -
I had an aggy come to me before the opening game and tell me how Arch was going to be a bust and a huge disappointment. Apparently, he was reading TexAgs. My response was, "We'll see. By the way, who is AnM's QB?" Man, how I would love it for Arch to ball out Friday night and make aggroids eat their words.

2026 Georgetown OL Kaden Scherer Flips to Texas *** Bang! Two days, two commits for the Texas Longhorns, both of which coming out of Georgetown High! Kaden Scherer becomes the latest to join the Texas 2026 class and it comes on the heels of an official visit over the weekend with the Horns. Scherer, a 6-foot-7, 285-pound offensive line, said he grew up rooting and watching the Longhorns as a kid in Georgetown and when the offer came in, it was a very big deal for him. Texas adds another offensive lineman to the class. Scherer told me last week Texas was pitching both tackle and guard to him, wanting to see how he would develop and progress physically. Even with a prospect as good as Arch, you never know what you've got in a quarterback until they step across the chalked line and the bullets are live. Trevor Lawrence comes to mind, who succeeded right out of the gate, but he walked into an insanely talented Clemson team. Colt was great as a redshirt freshman when he stepped in for Vince, but some forget how much he struggled in 2007 when the offensive line went through a transition and Limas Sweed was injured most of the year. Arch's rise has coincided with Emmett Mosley and DeAndre Moore getting healthy.

Art Briles back in college football coaching

I mean no but, sliding it under the rug and letting those kids play knowing the misconduct taking place is still quite vile -
Now back to the topic at hand, I am glad that Arch is on this progression. I'd be lying if I didn't say that, along with hoping this would happen, it was also a small thought in the back of my head that he may not develop like this. But it is a testament to how hard him and the staff had to work at it and keep the faith that this would happen. Hopefully it keeps going up from here!

If I recall correctly he also plays volleyball. Which means quick foot work and hands.
