  2. Once the break off occurs everything will get better, double tv revenue, additional 85 mens scholarships (baseball biggest winners?) , if you can restrict transfer portal entries and exits to graduates only or have to sit out a year you will fix 99.9% of problems that currently exist. The only thing holding all this back is the NCAA , but they will lose control of football in next 3-5 years.
  3. No, they don't. Even when the basketball team is good they dont care. The only thing they care about when it comes to basketball is if they beat texas.
  4. You can’t make this stuff up. Aggy has been saying a different version of the same thing for generations. Bottom line: you can’t fix stupid.
  5. Chris Beard, Chris Jans, Steve Forbes, & Steve Lutz are all names I've heard. Do the aggies care enough about basketball for Beard to leave? He fit Ole Miss so well. Sounds like Buzz' decision to leave was mutual. He goes somewhere, wins/improves program, and then gets out before it goes south. He can coach no doubt, but he's not for everyone. Doesn't seem like a great fit in the Northeast though.
  6. I would laugh my tail off if they went after Beard and he turned them down. At the same time, if they did pull him off that would lead to some big matchups between him and Miller.
  7. One of your competitors just published a video in which they described Bailey as a “backup” and compared him to Ovie Oghoufo and Ben Davis as an edge prospect. On a scale of one to ten, how laughable is that assessment of David Bailey?
  8. It appears this is just one more step on a journey with no real end in sight. Years of litigation and redefining college athletics in the making, across all sports to follow. I am all for players earning, but would have loved a well thought out solution presented by a governing body to where we are today. The changes are just beginning.
  9. The $21M comes from the tv contracts, each university can set their own percentage on how much they want to give each sport. Every school I believe in P5 will have access to around 20 million. Existing collectives will essentially mostly go away. Because 501c is not going to be allowed Boosters or sponsors of the university are not allowed to generate 3rd party NIL deals unless they are verified by deloitte to be of market value (this will likely be challenged in court immediately) NCAA is outsourcing NIL regulation to deloitte But a non sponsor of the university does not have to get the deal reviewed. Schools right now are trying to finish any NIL deals and frontload contracts pre april 7th as those will be honored. Side note; The whole house v ncaa case is 100% going to be challenged immediately because the players are not unionized and they did not agree to these terms (they cant be under ncaa). This may hinder some or all provisions of the settlement from going into effect. This will get fixed when P5 + some GO5 break off from the NCAA in a couple of years then the players can unionize. If I missed one of your questions let me know
  10. 24 hour fasts are tough but very beneficial for your body to clean house.
  11. On scale of 1-10 ... TEN
  12. The plan would be to destroy opposing QBs and have ultimate pass rushing depth.
  13. 4.5 - I'm glad he's interested, but is the marginal increase in what he would provide worth what we will need to pay to get him here? I'll trust the staff, but this is the deepest spot on our team, and adding another body doesn't seem add a ton to what we currently have.
  14. Man the 2023 longhorn football team really did a number on the A&M athletic program without even playing on the field. Texas beat Alabama and made the playoff so they fired Jimbo and burned $75M. Now NIL has been damaged and two coaches left. Aggies are talking Beard but IDK if thats a realistic option.
  15. I am still wondering a bit what the plan for him would be. Probably a 6.5 considering he did just have 7.0 sacks last year. More than 2x the next highest sack-getter on Stanford a year ago, and in this Texas front seven, he would be doubled exactly 0 times next fall.
  16. Wanted to discuss this for a better understanding of the implications for Texas athletics but football in particular. NIL in its current form has been a huge "win" for Texas. I'd like to understand better what the landscape looks like after House, and if the competitive advantages that Texas has seen with NIL will continue after the settlement. I'm less interested in how this affects other schools than in specifically how it will affect Texas. The basics as I understand them: Colleges can share revenue with athletes (capped at $21M) Schools can engage directly with athletes on NIL deals (previously, schools could not do this) Some sort of NIL enforcement agency comes into play Roster size may change Scholarship limits may change Title IX is still in effect across all athletics There may be back pay for current and former athletes Immediate questions: Where does the $21M come from? Is this for each university to figure out? Texas and other wealthy schools might pull that from athletic departments alone. Other schools would have to pull from their general budgets to hand out that much money to athletes. Some schools simply won't have any money to hand out at all. Schools can negotiate NIL deals with athletes. Cool. What happens to existing collectives? NIL enforcement. Will this be the NCAA? Is this their try to get back in on the action and remain relevant? I've enjoyed living in a world these past few years where traditional bag men have been marginalized. Love it that Texas athletics can bring immense resources of its donor base to bear on the success of athletes and teams that we all follow. How would this settlement (if it stands) change this new world that we are living successfully in? I know it's not clear yet, but I'd like to hear thoughts. And if there is something like this pinned somewhere, my apologies and link me to it. Hook 'Em
  17. 6 for me. 8 if it means he doesn’t go to an sec rival chance seems low. 3? would have to rename the nascar package to something more fitting. Formula 1 front with Simmons, Bailey, Hill, Moore, and Terry? Sheesh
  18. On a scale of 1-10 how badly would you want Texas to bring in Bailey? and 1-10 what are the chances it happens?
  19. Buzz left because he wasn’t getting enough nil support. So aggy would have to probably 3x what they were willing to give Buzz for Beard to even consider. I don’t see them doing it with so much pressure on football match Texas.
  20. They only get Chris Beard if they overlook his past and the pay raise outweighs the possibility of working with a toxic boss.
  21. Poor aggys! GAG'em! 🤣😂👎
  22. Lol young one. I’ve for 40 plus years of watching them trip over their di*k. I don’t care who they hire. The pattern is set.
  23. You would think after the championship plaque fiasco, the Aggies would stop w the big statements. Oh well, it's always a source of entertainment watching them get egg on their faces
  24. LOL. Aggy will always be losers. I don't care who they hire.. Some of you never learn... Aggys next coach in every sport is always their savior.
  25. Doubtful because T. Albert’s won’t allow enough money for staff support.
