Texas was operating at 85 scholarships this season after spending #85 on Marshall Landwehr. Three departures already are down to 82, there will obviously be plenty more. But you could realistically be looking at 50 new additions to the Longhorn roster in 2026.

Trevor Goosby is No. 15 and Anthony Hill is No. 30. FWIW, Goosby is eligible for the draft as a redshirt sophomore.

Regardless of the bowl site or opponent, I’m viewing it as a glorified exhibition in our first look at the 2026 team. Between NFL opt outs and guys getting ready to enter the portal, the Texas roster for a non-CFP postseason game should look a lot different than what the Longhorns put on the field against Texas A&M.

Depends on who enters the portal. Definitely IOL,a RB, a over the ball DL, DB, IL, punter, kicker, probably award several current walkons.

The SEC essentially assigns their bowl teams to certain games. At last check, I’m expecting Texas to be in the Citrus Bowl if the Longhorns don’t make the CFP.

This is HUGE and expected. At least for me. How can we NOT go to 105 while other programs are? Certainly the whole OR grabbing WR talent may have woke the SEC higher ups up! So what happens with WO's? Are they eliminated or we get 20 WO's in ADDITION to the 105? Inquiring minds!
