Per Mr. Dale of Texasln.org on Facebook... Robert Charles McKay, affectionately known to friends and family as Bob, passed away on September 10, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 78. Bob was born on December 27, 1947, in Seminole, Texas, to his loving parents, Doris and Charles McKay. He grew up in Crane, Texas, where he developed a character defined by his quick wit, profound kindness, and hard work ethic. He attended Crane public schools, where he stood out as an outstanding, all-around athlete. His remarkable athletic talents earned him a full scholarship to play football at the University of Texas under legendary coach Darrell K Royal. As a Longhorn, Bob helped anchor the offensive line that paved the way for the fabled “Wishbone” offense, helping guide the team to a 1969 National Championship and earning recognition as a consensus First-Team All-American. His collegiate success led to the professional leagues when he was selected as a first-round draft choice by the Cleveland Browns in 1970, where he also met his wife, Donna. Bob played at the highest level as a dedicated offensive lineman, spending six seasons with the Browns followed by three seasons with the New England Patriots before concluding his NFL career. Bob’s enduring legacy in the sport earned him numerous prestigious honors following his football career. He was inducted into the University of Texas Hall of Honor in 1990, the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame in 2012,and reached the pinnacle of collegiate recognition with his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Following his professional football career, Bob returned to private business in Austin. Above all his athletic achievements, his greatest joy was his family and the life he built alongside his loved ones and many longtime friends, including several from his childhood in Crane and his football days at UT. His Christian faith was important to him and was a source of strength and comfort. Bob is survived by his beloved wife and anchor of 50 years, Donna; their two children, Jill (Scott) and Josh (Katie); eight cherished grandchildren; and brothers Don (Kathy) and Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Charles McKay. Arrangements are under the care of the Neptune Society of Austin, Texas. A private cremation will take place, and details about a future celebration of life service will be released later.

Two equally talented teams, playing a top 5 match up at night, the visiting team 2-3 years removed from winning a national championship, experienced QBs, and Texas is favored by 1.5 is not analogous enough for a comparison? It’s not a conference game if that’s what you mean and we’re not ranked 1 the visiting team is.

To be fair, there were not many opportunities to host games against top 5 teams in the Big XII, even in non-con. In odd years, if OU was a top 5 team, that could've been the case, but obviously that game was never played at DKR and will never be played at DKR unless they meet in a CFP game at DKR.

I thought he was just asking about examples where we’ve come up short. We don’t have that many big time home games to draw on I’m using the Georgia game in 24 as my closest comp on this one.

Fair, there isn’t a large sample size but we do know Sark has struggled against these programs and coaches. The Georgia game in 24 is the closest comp I’m using for this game.
