I would rather say nice things about Kyle flood than start a mid ball thread

@Joe Zura starting a basketball thread? Absolutely not

Sellers at #4 is something

If implemented this coming season, 4th year true seniors will absolutely sue...as they should. This affects true 4th year seniors like Jordan Pope. He'll be in line for a nice NIL payday!

Which version did you use as data point? The first or final?

Coach Hays was also the father-in-law to Randy McEachern, former UT QB when Earl was winning the Heisman -
Six 1st round picks would be awesome and real nice for recruiting.

Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby - oh boy!!!

Don't leave us hanging in suspense man - you "predict he doesn't [miss/play/?] single game this year" ? -
I just finished compiling first round data from two 2026 mock draft composites plus individual first round mocks from ten of the biggest industry names. Todd had the most accurate 2026 first round mock of anyone, by a wide margin over everybody except Mel Kiper (the edge over Mel was slight). I was impressed. So hopefully he's right again about 2027 Longhorns going in round one (I'll start a new thread later today and post the draft data - pretty interesting to mock draft watchers)

Passing of a High School Coaching Legend

Sad. He was a good guy. I went to Texas when Jack, jr. was there. We lived on the same floor at Jester Center. I met Jack sr. several times. The same with Jenna. A really nice girl. My condolences. -
I don’t see Sellers being QB3 in this draft. Also Ryan Williams needs to apply some glue to his hands if he wants to go in round 1

I am betting this becomes a non-story. just listening to coffee and football and maybe there is more to this than meets my eye. -

Being from Friendswood ... I remember the name talked about by coaches from area schools. Had some terrific teams in late 60's and early 70's -
And 22 of 32 will be drafted out of the college they signed with out of HS High school recruiting remains the lifeblood of programs

Sad to report on the passing for former West Columbia coach, Jack Hays. He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Hall of Honor and was well respected by his peers. He was my cousin and spent his some of his childhood chumming with my father. Both were coaches and both in the Hall of Honor. His daughter, Jenna Hays McEachern has written about Texas football and is as much of a source on information as her friend Bill Little. Condolences of his kids Jack Jr., Jenna and Colonel Jeff Hays Jeff Hays spent many years coaching at Air Force Academy after graduating from there. Service details are pending

Texas women's basketball portal thread

I only used the dumb part because you can’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Of course he’s been great with two final fours. However, he’s sort of at a crossroads it seems. He’s gonna have to figure out why players won’t stay. The lack of portal movement seems like we can’t attract the ones we want. It isn’t lack of wanting people or trying. Credit the staff for keeping the class together. Hey I coach for living and get nuggets from time to time that I don’t always share. Look in our profession you either adapt or die. It’s just the way it is. If you think you have it down pat, you probably don’t. I hope Vic has wise council around him. -

For Vic, who plays usually stems from how they are playing defensively versus offensively. He pulled Crump and Carlton early in games because of how poor they played defense at times. He did this with Lee as well against UCLA when she just didn't have the same intensity she normally has. Booker shooting 3-23 and Lee 2-17 are anomalies. Shooters will shoot and you have to run with who got you there. Nobody would ever predict Booker would shoot 13%. She wasn't tired, she was just missing easy shots. That being said, I would have liked Vic taking her out of the game for 1-2 minutes early just to talk to her and get her in a different mindset when she missed 7-8 shots in a row after the first bucket. But Vic gets us to the finals if Booker shoots 6-23 instead which is terrible for her as well. Just very unfortunate we low rolled in the final four and now in the off season. -
