I honestly think Sark has predetermined that its the "starter's time" until it isn’t. He's given Arch as much grace as he did with Quinn. I don't think Sark wants to bench anyone at the QB position unless he feels he absolutely has to (i.e. Card at Arkansas & Quinn vs Georgia in Austin). Its crazy to think that Casey Thompson probably the QB that's run Sark's offense the smoothest and with the most consistency as any of the QBs during Sark's tenure at Texas.

He’s facing adversity which is something he hasn’t felt in a while. He has unbelievable physical skills though. He will be back.

NBA 2026-27 Season Thread

I think so too. It’s time for the Rockets to carry their weight in the state of Texas in pro hoops. The Spurs and Mavs have done their part this century. Now it’s the Rockets turn. -
I think all offseason Arch was told this team is so talented you just have to not make any mistakes. I think that's why he's looking off of Open receivers on throws that he could make and looking for an easier safer option. I think they've gotten in his head and until they get out we're not going to see the guy who he had last year.

The Vogel curse extends to hoops?
-
I think time will show us. Is it Sark? Is it Arch? Is it both? In the next few years I believe we will have our answer.
-
Ime should’ve called a timeout (he had 2) at the end of that last Rocket’s possession. At 7 seconds left on the shout clock, I think you gotta set up something to get the ball in KD’s hands when being up two scores would have gave them the game right there. Hell of a play by Amen though.
-
No that is not what I am saying. I am saying look at the four years he has been here. If Sark felt Arch was better than Quinn he would have transferred. So take that with the entire time Arch has been the starter. Look at the whole body of work.

Best team in Texas when healthy 🚀.

AGGIE JOKES. We should build a definitive repository.

What does Austin do with their old garbage trucks? They paint Ws on the side and sell them to Aggies as Winnebagos! -
There been awesome performances in his time here. Unfortunately not many this year. He’s regressed but the talent has been there.

I am talking about what we were told about Arch Manning and what we have seen in four years.

Big man trying to play like a guard lol @CJ Vogel

Kinda surprised to see Wemby start the season with such struggles. Figured he’d be on fire to start the year after the end of the finals run last year.

Baylor is taking some scalps in the preseason -
he should go texas tech. easier schedule. can sark figure a better play besides the pass to the side behind the line of scrimmage. teams figured that out already. maybe the problem vvvvvv Arch Surgery and Recovery Details Type of Surgery: Minor, preventative foot surgery to clean up and fix a lingering issue. Time Out / Sidelined: He did not miss any games (the surgery took place in the offseason in January 2026 after the season concluded). Spring Practice Limitations: He was limited during spring drills and offseason workouts for a few months. Full Clearance: He returned to light throwing and individual drills by April 2026 and received full medical clearance for summer workouts by May 2026. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

There are but this was also the same guy that was carrying the offense the 2nd half last year. So what changed? How did he lose his confidence to this degree? Why did he go from playing with so much swagger his first two years to now? Why did he look way better starting vs Mississippi St with only 1 start under his belt two years ago than he does now after 20+?? What I see someone that's being overcoached to the point that they are overthinking every decision and no longer trust themselves. Imagine an elite streetballer from NYC being forced to play in a one dribble, cut and screen motion offense in basketball for the sake of his "development". You'd get a shell of that guy and wonder if he could even play at all when the reality is he's in the wrong system. What perplexes me is that Arch & Sark had real success the back half of last year. How did we not grow on that? How did we go backwards? Sark knows what Arch is capable so that's the part that I don't quite understand.
-
So, I guess we all just imagined the back half of last year in performances against Vanderbilt, Arkansas, 2nd half A&M, and Michigan? Hell, he was one of the only guys that really showed up to play vs Georgia.

Football, like life, is a journey. This team isn’t a finished product. Suck it up and stand. The bandwagon can leave. -
Coach JB’s interesting take on Sark and Arch
Dr. Love replied to Dr. Love's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I’ll do what I want. And his take on Arch not being a fit in Sark’s offense is in line with what Rod B said. Don’t be scared of others opinions. Test it and then have an original thought.
