  1. Past hour
  2. For some reason, a lot of the Aussie fans were at watch parties in Texas, instead of at the actual game. Not really sure why tbh lol.
  3. If our coach can’t get 1 million from donations or a donor alone it’s pathetic and should be able to get 6 with the history and connection Texas has. If LSU can do it so can Texas
  4. I went to the game. Honestly, I expected Australia to have more supporters. The ones that showed up, represented well, but it seemed like it was 75% Egyptian supporters.
  5. Mexico playing at Azteca is very tough. Historically, England finds ways to lose also. I'll take Mexico at home.
  6. Dude. Everything is proportional. Do you not realize how massive it is in a sport like baseball to get $1+ million directly from the university in rev share at a place like LSU or A&M? That is almost 20% of your roster budget you don’t have to “energize” from your donors. Do not try to say Texas adding outfield seating for a regional proves there is institutional commitment for baseball. There is a difference between that and giving the program actual dollars for the roster. You know that. I’m going to go enjoy the rest of my Friday night. Hopefully Jim Schlossnagle calls me later to get me energized for the season.
  7. Bro getting up at 4am to watch Australia play terrible was so disappointing. They went 3 matches without even scoring a goal, lucky to even make it out of the group stage tbh. Anyway, that's about all the soccer I want to watch, I'm not a big soccer guy lol.
  8. Bingo. We have about 2 institutional donors who bankroll the baseball team.
  9. I just think you are a homer and dont have any room to be critical of anything. I mean there has to be a reason why a&m and jay are doing better than us in the portal and at the end of the day the blame has to fall to someone at texas cause its an area that needs to improve. You are saying institutional commitment to baseball but that is not how NIL works most of the money doesnt come from rev share in the two other major sports. Texas seems very committed to baseball look what they did in the regional they added extra seating on outfield I dont think its an institution issue.
  10. OU doesn't have great NIL for baseball and still won it all and played for another natty four years prior to that. LSU has top 5 baseball NIL and missed the tourney last season, so it's about getting hot at the right time more than NIL budgets I guess.
  11. As best I can tell Laya was 1-11 versus Texas, 3-16 versus UCLA, and 4-15 versus USC. 2 doubles. He did tear Yale up in the regional. Played well versus Nebraska. Great games versus Purdue, Northwestern. As a senior in high school, his average decreased 50 points from his junior year although homers went up. He must have some really good advanced metrics because his performance is not that special to date.
  12. Cape Verde deserves all the flowers for taking Argentina to FT + ET and only losing by 1.
  13. NIL is not the sole responsibility of the head coach. There has to be institutional commitment and buy-in. I see you in every basketball thread and I know you saw Gerry say that CDC stepped up to the plate to help out Miller and the program. I’m beginning to realize this back and forth is pointless. You believe that Schloss needs to “energize” a bunch of donors that already give money. I guess Jay Johnson and Michael Earley did a great job energizing their donors coming off great seasons! Texas needs better institutional commitment to baseball. Tradition and history and the most CWS appearances of all time don’t win bidding wars. You think the only reason Nolan Cain left is a pay raise? He has worked at both places and knows the resources he has to work with.
  14. I knew it as soon as it was posted that they were the competition. This one stings.
  15. L is for L O S E R ! 🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
  16. 12 and 16!! McCoy and Street
  17. Today
  18. I know very little about soccer, but I have been watching them. I haven't found them to be a good enough offensive team to beat England. I hope they win though.
  19. Then what explains him missing on so many portal players ? Miller sure didn’t and it was his first year plus yes I do think A&M is more loose with their money that’s what I mean by he needs to energize donors.
  20. So to be clear, you think Schloss was able to energize everyone at A&M to give boatloads of money but isn’t able to do that here because he isn’t doing a good enough job of “energizing” everyone at Texas? That sounds silly just typing it out.
  21. Yes but LSU spent so much on kiffin and the new coach. The spending for them is very high was my point
  22. Texas football has a better class than LSU and so does Texas basketball.
  23. Hopefully all the focus is getting every freshman to campus besides Emerson and Bumila at this point.
  24. I think A&M is more easily energized look what they are doing in football so yes. Just look at schloss lineup that was runner up that was in year 2 or 3 of him and that is no where near where he is in year 3 here.
  25. Have you ever stepped back and wondered by baseball NIL at A&M was never a problem for Schlossnagle or elite head coach Michael Earley? Was Schloss was able to energize donors at A&M but isn’t able to do it at Texas? I find that hard to believe.
  26. I donate and will complain as I see fit Mike 😉😂
  27. It costs a lot to keep guys like pack, a rod, volantis , cozart, etc. Garcia , Armstrong , and Solitaria weren’t cheap either. Everyone RELAX
