I saw Mateer at Love's Truck Stop in OKC opening a big canister of Robertson's Beef Jerkey with his surgically fixed throw hand. No stress in the twist of the lid. 100% playing.

Well done with the original post! Love it And you knew Texas Tech would offer ... they can't let the future inheritance of a few billion leave the family. Would be one of the dumbest recruiting blunders of all-time

This guy just couldn't be a worse combination . . . a sooner and an aggie in one?! My condolences to your brethren.

It's not easier to read broken up into first grader paragraphs. The original was conceptually correct.

When scouting the Florida defense everyone is so worried about are we looking at numbers or watching plays? The Florida defense that's been on display is NOT the defense we're going to see in terms of scheme or personnel. They lack the depth they had going into the season, which is why a game by game is the best approach to take. While the numbers look good there are so many players and positions to attack. Florida likes to keep their safeties back to limit explosives. Well with their best DL in street clothes and youth at both linebackers, if Sark decides he wants to get back to himself and run his counters and misdirection big plays are there for the taking. The weakest position group on the field for Florida will be linebacker. Go back and watch the Miami game, yeah I get it Miami's offensive line blah blah blah, but the success Miami had running their zone runs and GT counter had more to do with linebackers running themselves out of the play and not fitting the run well more than anything. If those linebackers play with the eye discipline they had and fitting the run like they did against Miami, they will have to drop a safety in the box. Playing press on the outside is easier to do with guaranteed help over the top, but the equation changes when you have to do it on an island. As fans have patience and be ready to be frustrated until Sark makes Florida come out of their 2 High shell, and when they do strike up the band.

Were you watching the 2025 season or the 2016 season? I disagree with you. I can't believe we were in the playoff hunt for as long as we were. The Stros were playing on fumes and scotch tape for months. Stros had a losing record in July, a losing record in August, and a losing record in September. And had to deal with a mental case in Framber, who had a horrible, horrible last two months of the season sans his final start of the year. It's going to be an interesting off-season. And an envious one watching former Astros in the playoffs with the BoSox, Cubs, Tigers, Pads, and Blue Jays. (I don't count Cole with the Yanks or Stubbs with the Phils or Teoscar with LAD or Miley with the Reds).

Haha this is the dumbest thing I've seen in a while. Given Mateer's history, I bet he's just trying to move the betting line

I hope he plays. I want to beat OU at their best. He would be dumb to play two weeks after surgery but bring it on!
-
Seeing both the Rangers and Astros miss the playoffs after that fantastic 2023 ALCS is not something I thought would happen two years later. Jason Garrett type of season for the Rangers record wise.

Can’t believe they didn’t make the playoffs.

Finebaum entering transfer portal?
Jc Dobbs replied to Quinncent McManning, Jr.'s topic in On Texas Football Forum
I read an article in the Daily Mail (USA version) yesterday and Finebaum was quoted as saying he hosted his radio show for four hours after the murder of Charlie Kirk and couldn't remember what he said because it seemed so unimportant to him. He said that he had never experienced that feeling before. My view is that he could have realized it's time to do something else in his remaining years. In the article he also said he considers himself a Republican and he voted for Trump. I would think that profile would make it difficult to enjoy working at ESPN Disney. Back in the 1980s I worked in Alabama and I learned that it's a state with a "strong Governor" structure (unlike Texas' "weak Governor") and being Governor of Alabama is highly coveted in that state. Name identification is the very first requirement to be a candidate for the job, and everyone in Alabama knows Paul. As surprised as I was about Finebaum, I was far more surprised to read that Stephen A Smith is considering running for the Democratic Party nomination for President in 2028. This post is in no way meant to inject political discussion and isn't partisan -- it's just noteworthy that two well-known sports personalities are considering running for high office. -
Agree! The only time I remember Zero U fielding a truly bad team was when John Blake was HC. I remember an old guy sitting behind me in the Cotton Bowl Stadium saying something like "who ARE those players wearing the OU uniforms?!" A runner - up season was when Howard Schnellenberger was HC. My buddy's wife used to call him "Grandpa Football," and I thought that was a pretty good one. But I must agree that for a stretch of a few seasons it didn't seem to matter who was playing or coaching for the Longhorns because Bob just had a spell over Texas and it just felt hopeless.
