I’m cool with handing him the ball some, especially on goal line, but out wide at the slot in-between the 20’s. Come on now. If he gets his hands on a DB yeah they are a toy for him, but that’s rarely gonna happen, I don’t care how nibble he is for his size. That’s just absurd.

I’ll be there as well, I hope this experiment ends because it looked ridiculous.

The last time he got an extension was before the 2024 period. I think they knew the transition to the SEC was going to be tough, I also think they (OU administration) know this season will be/could be difficult, and they like the culture and how BV is building the football program, so they don’t want any “hot seat” talk to question if BV has job security if the season does turn out to be disappointing for them.

Also they basically pushed Jeff Lebby out the door by begging Selmon (former Sooner great and current Mississippi State AD) to hire Lebby. Many thought Selmon would become OU’s next AD.

I need to hear @Gerry Hamilton thoughts on this. He has been average at best. How does this warrant this big of an extension

Think he'll have a bit of a different role once we're in the actual season and are done with scrimmages. But they're gonna get him the ball too. Definitely unorthodox for a 5-star OL, but he can help them win games that way. Gilmer went 4-7 last year which is the worst record I can find they've had in the MaxPreps era goes back to 2004 (can't see earlier season records), so I assume they're getting creative with Camara in this way because it's easy to assume the talent pool is down from what it's been. There's also very few players in 4A-DII that will be able to get him to the ground by himself. And Cedar Hill runs the ball with Jalen Brewster multiple times a game as well.

I'll be in Longview next Thursday to see Gilmer at Pine Tree
