OTF Premium NCAA Tournament moving to 76 teams?
Hank South posted a topic in On Texas Football Forum
Appears headed that way -
Executive orders are only effective in the Executive Department of government. There are no legally recognized "small activist judges," whatever they might be.
-
Why would any judge condemn him to writing illegibly?? 🤔 It was a state court decision that preempted any Federal Court decision.
-
You threw out some crazy Latin term and now I have to do some research. I’m not sure at what level the injunction was passed at but my thoughts are if it is a state court and not a federal court that decision would impact that state but a different state could possibly rule differently. I’ll have to find some time to do some reading and see if I can make my head hurt more. 😂

Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby - oh boy!!!

No thats this year where they miss Utah and BYU, and get Houston and ASU at home. ASU lost Sam Leavitt and Rakeek Brown too. -

I don’t think that’s right bc think of all the EOs that get stopped by small activist judges. I think when a ruling with a national entity, ie the NCAA, it’s all encompassing. I am in no way shape or form a lawyer but that feels like it has to be the case.

I’m not an expert in this in anyway but it seems like that would it could be the case.

Recent Longhorns in the WNBA...
Dread-headed Texan replied to Califashorn75's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Glad that I'm not the only W fan in the building. I watched Rori with Washington the other day and defensively she looked great, but offensively it looked like she is trying to find her footing. There's two extra spots on the roster with the new CBA, I have my fingers crossed she grabs one. Washington seems to be going with a youth movement so we'll see. -
My son is a 3rd year baseball player at UTRGV. I am hoping he will get a 5th year through this deal. His HS class (and first two years of college) was so messed up by Covid. The amount of transferring between schools was crazy. Those '23 kids were competing against 24-yr olds in many cases. We rightly talk UT sports here every day. The reality of college sports for schools outside of the P4 conferences is a completely different animal than what we discuss on Coffee and Football, etc. I think bowl games are a great example. As a Texas fan, I see the argument for eliminating the "meaningless" bowl games. As the parent of an athlete who might get to play his last game in one of those bowl games (if he played football), and get some swag from it, I disagree completely. I would guess that 60% of college athletes aren't getting a penny of NIL, and many of them aren't even on scholarship. Try telling that kid that the game is meaningless and he shouldn't get a chance to play in it. No argument that those games are completely inconsequential to UT.

This would be very interesting, but very predictable.
-
Pretty interesting - the SEC had 19 more drafted players with 2 less schools to pull from compared to the B1G.

They have him going to Cleveland, so probably a good fit, right?

I got it from this article in The Athletic - "2026 NFL Draft: Comparing top analysts’ rankings" (paywall) [quote on the source of these] The Athletic collected data as of the morning of April 23 from the following sources: The Athletic’s Dane Brugler’s ‘The Beast’ guide, ESPN’s Jordan Reid (published April 17), Pro Football Focus’s big board, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, ESPN’s best available list, The Ringer’s Todd McShay, NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah, ESPN’s Mel Kiper, The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner (published March 26) and Yahoo Sports’s Nate Tice (published April 15).

The problem is all these fan bases thinking we give a rip about them. I don’t even think about Tech unless someone mentions them. They aren’t little brother, they are a twice removed step cousin that you’ve only met once at the annual family gathering. What morons… -
The full faith and credit clause and doctrine of res judicata prevents another court from relitigating the issue. I am an attorney.
-
So there will be 10 first round picks in the 2027 NFL draft on the field at the same time on Sept. 12. Gotta be some sort of record for a single draft.

I love the idea of Wingo to the Rams
-
I was wondering the same thing. So his road games for example in other states he would be ruled ineligible but home games he could play in Mississippi. Unless I’m dumb
-
We will use Trinidad Chambliss as an example. Since a Mississippi judge has granted an injunction making him illegible would t that make him eligible only in Mississippi? What if a Texas judge ruled him to be I eligible? Could there be a situation where a player could be eligible in one state but not the others? Disregard that the 5 x 5 could make this irrelevant. @Bobby Burton @CJ Vogel @Jeff Howe @Hank South @Gerry Hamilton

I am OUT on Sellers. OL was a mess, but decision making was so far worse.
-
11. NYG – IDL David Stone, Oklahoma Good luck with that pick.

Six would tie the record (Bama, 2020) google tells me. McDonald could also go in the first round.
