Vasek Needs To Stay On The Defensive Side Of The Ball

I couldn't waste my time listening to the guy in the video. I just fast forwarded to see the missed block There's absolutely NO REASON not to block the man right in front of you. They're supposed to be a 3 man wall. Vasek letting him fly by untouched is beyond egregious. Game losing play. -
That's exactly what happened last year. If Texas made the playoffs I think they'd have been a tough matchup for a lot of playoff teams but it clicked too far into the season and was too little too late. I thought the issues from last year would have been taken care of but the stubborn attitude of the coaching staff hasn't fixed things the way I had believed they would. It's the same troubles and issues as the beginning of last season. Not enough quick game with too many long developing route concepts while neglecting the run.

That was the thing that annoyed me more than anything about post game comments, press conference and all the rest. Special teams should at the very worst not hurt you. There is opportunity to gain from special teams but you should not lose ground in a game. If special teams don't gain from plays during a game the coach should say we need to work on special teams. I mean we lost the game because of special teams and the head coache"s answer is sometimes you go through lulls in a season. Sark says he is here to win championships, I guess we just have to wait until we don't have lulls in a season. It doesn't sound like the head coach is to worried about it.

I meant more so in a general sense, that Texas’s YPG rushing goes up if Arch runs more. Just a matter of attempts at that point. But this goes back to I think one of the central issues which has been why is our IOL unable to get any freaking movement - we are literally in the same place we were last year.

Mike Elko vs TexAgs/fan base … is wild
jcash02 replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Great info / share This was obvious from the beginning. It only made his attacks on them more baffling. "Billy's cesspool" has a lot of big money donors on there contributing and funding the operation. I'm sure this is the case at almost every major program. The idea that a message board is just a bunch of sweaty cheeto dust covered keyboard warrior fans is crazy. Everyone has access to the internet, social media, forums etc. -

Gerry, Who are all the basketball recruits Texas is looking at for this 2027 cycle I feel like I really only of heard of 2 Yam and Beckham. Do you think we will sign a top 10 class? -

2026 Women’s Indoor Volleyball Thread
HookemTexas replied to LonghornFan4Ever's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Appreciate the great insight. Blocking is another thing that seems to have taken a nose dive since Sullivan left. Texas used to be top 5 year in and year out in blocks. Texas' run in 2023 was with all float serves as well, the last top spin server was Logan if I recall correctly until this year. Also, do you know why Spears isn't playing? Is she injured? With the recruits that he's pulled in (top 5 classes) and the resources at his disposal at Texas (example top 5 NIL as well), there's no reason for Texas not to remain in the top 5. - Today

This is common sense, but who you have as your position coaches/coordinators matters. Tashard Choice developed elite RBs at Texas. He left and there was a drop off. Sark wanted a more aggressive in your face defense…he got it with Muschamp. If you want to run the football you need an O line coach that is known for physicality. If you want clean special teams play you need one who is disciplined. If you want a great QB you need a QB coach who has a history of development. And if you want a good offense you need an OC. You can’t keep pushing the same methods and expect different results. Sark needs to make staff changes and additional hires this offseason (OC). No more excuses. If he doesn’t want to he can leave.

Can you get a physical run game in just 1-2 game weeks when you couldn't do it all off season? I guess we find out. I think it even goes beyond physicality. I think we have a coaching bandwidth issue both with special teams and with head coach. In our program, both are only part time positions. That isn't how most programs do it.
