  2. Just my observation after watching CFB since 1968... the table was set for the Longhorns after the '23 and '24 seasons because Texas was "close," and the CFB media ranked them #1 in anticipation of the Ohio State matchup. Then... after playing fairly well at Ohio State, the OL and the Offense were slow to "Jell," and Arch inexplicably got the Yips. Even more inexplicably, the team was a No-Show against Florida. Texas was focused vs OU and things came together in the RRR. Then again, some focus and momentum was lost in subpar performances in SEC games, even in wins like Kentucky and Mississippi State. At that point, all the early season goodwill was gone as the media and sports pundits wrote off the Longhorns and stopped paying attention. The media meme was Texas blew it, so see you in '26. Then the Offense played better but the Defense blew some coverages and although Texas was winning, they probably needed to be blowing out opponents in order to get back into CFB playoff contention. Georgia was just a better team... and that was that for '25. A big Meh from the media and pundits. Inside of all that, Simmons was just overlooked. I think if Texas was playing well and winning handily headed for the CFP... Simmons would have been First Team AA. I'm thinking he'll use this as motivation for '26 and if the team plays well dealing with a difficult schedule he will be a First Round DC and win some CFB awards. Thanks for your excellent ongoing coverage. Hook 'Em!

  4. I say go to 16 and have an explicit clause making 8-4 teams or worse ineligible. I truly think a 9-3 team should be eligible for the playoffs. Allows for a high profile loss in non-con, high profile conference loss and one slip up. Anything beyond that should never be considered.
  5. Don’t think I’ve seen this guy come up on this thread. But a top 5 transfer on 247 and On3. Thoughts?
  6. Idc if it's 16 teams or 12 team or 2 teams. No participation trophy spots. Just send the top X best teams there and then seed however you want. A 21-point spread should not sniff a first round matchup what are we doing. I looked up the data and 88% of all FBS-FBS college football games had a more narrow spread than a first round college football playoff game
  7. Elkins has a surprisingly sweet stroke as well. He’s really a major contributor up there at the academy in Blairstown, NJ. I drink too much of the koolaid self admittedly … and, he and Sterling seem like they have some serious potential to do something at the next level. 6’10” guys hanging out on the wings isn’t my favorite but it seems to be the trend.
  8. Sorsby is the better QB.
  9. I wonder if Raiola will intentionally tear his ACL this offseason to continue being exactly like Mahomes?
  10. Bo Nix 2.0 for Oregon, then.
  11. Westlake boys are rippin’ the nets. Neither seem ultra athletic but they are pretty smooth and have several sots they seem to like.
  12. I don;t think Texas had any interest in Oatis last year. Expect Texas to be very precise with any DL targets they pursue this year.
  13. Over the ball target?
  14. Remember this one rom last portal window? lol
  15. He was on the all-SEC freshman team in 2023 and had a good year this season.
  16. Raiola is an interesting case study. He's not bad. But he doesn't do much that is exceptional. He has erratic tendencies. All together, he checks down more than just about any QB in the country, which is why his completion percentage is so high. Feels like that is perfect for what we have seen Oregon do at QB lately.
  17. Austin Goosby over the weekend https://www.instagram.com/p/DSREOTEjthv/?img_index=1&igsh=MTFmcTd6azF4MjFsYg==
  18. Everyone that has watched a bit of football can see that he plays QB thinking that he's a much better athlete and "thrower of the football" than he actually is... Talked about him in an previous thread with Gerry chiming in and saying that he constatly drops the ball below his waist before throwing and has a looooong release, all while working with the famous QB guru that trains mahomes and others (Not really a diss, he is a pretty good coach tbf) Plus, the intagibles: - Clearly copies Mahomes in everything that he does, don't know how anyone can deny that and if we see it and I'm sure the teammates see it too - 6 different teams in 7 years... good luck having a team that will have your back bro! Goosby earlier in the year said that Arch is "Someone you want to lay down life for", has anyone said that about Temu Mahomes? Loyalty and leadership are as important for a QB as any other thing. To me, he doesn't have it at all.
  19. Not a QB expert at all but I’ve always felt slightly underwhelmed by his play, then again I don’t think he was in a good situation at Nebraska
  20. I’ve been saying this. No matter the number, don’t expect a fair or transparent system. Ambiguity, controversy, and debate mean ratings.
  21. Wait till raiola finds out he has to tear his ACL next to copy his idol
  22. Today
  23. First team was David Bailey and Cashius Howell. I think Simmons is better than either of them, but I can at least understand it. Second team was John Henry Daley (okay, I get it…he had a ton of production this year) and Rueben Bain. Bain makes NO sense. They clearly wanted to reward his career, not his season. The dude had 4.5 sacks!!!! Great talent, but Simmons had a demonstrably better year. Third team was Caden Curry (I get it, awesome player, but they are clearly rewarding him for being a senior) and some dude from Western Michigan with 14.5 sacks (let’s see him do it against P4 competition). You can rationalize all their selections, but the reality is that it’s a joke.
  24. Didn't have Dan Lanning striking out in the portal at QB on my bingo card lol
