Not happening just try and ruin Aggie and play a meaningless bowl game. Time needs to be spent on coaching changes, recruiting , portal retention and additions and get younger guys playing time for said bowl game. Didn't get enough help yesterday. And LSU will mail it in to OU no doubt after watching them last night. Just shows you don't schedule OSU but another cupcake and how things change .Oh well is what it is.

Screw #3. ND must join a Power 4 conference. Stop the special rules crap for ND.

How much to get Arky RB Mark Washington to Texas?
Jc Dobbs replied to UTexas2017's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Maybe it's just me, but Christian Clark looks too small for what Sark's offense needs at RB. He appears to be quick with good feet. Perhaps the slot receiver position? Hook 'Em! -
Some kids make the best choice for their family and their own interest. That doesn’t always include Texas. Evidently our offensive line coach can identify talent….

NFL draft is where he's headed -
Consensus 3-star ... kind of crushes one narrative out there on Texas OL recruiting. OTF had him as a 4-star, but recruiting industry had him as a 3.

Several members of his family various sports at Washington.

Defensive adjustments at half...
Oldest Horn replied to rocketman's topic in On Texas Football Forum
The backup was an improvement. I believe we shut them down for 4 series before he went out. -
Moore was the #1 problem with the TE passing game. He is almost useless in coverage. It was a bad choice to move him to off ball LB, because he doesn't possess the instincts for the position after primarily playing the edge for his career. However, Taafe was easily the worst defensive player on the field in the 1st half, since he's come back from injury he has been in wrong place and the wrong time frequently.

Could also make those second round games slotted into some of the lesser bowl game sites with emphasis on regional locations. This model would motivate players not to skip the bowl games as well.

Would Lane really want that announced if Ole Miss is in the playoffs? -
Utah and BYU losing last night would have been huge for us. Mizzou beating OU would have been helpful. I agree with Kevin C, we'll likely be ranked 15 in the CFP Rankings on Tuesday night. Vandy, Alabama, OU, Ole Miss can all lose next week to SEC opponents. Let's go beat the Aggies 🤘🏽

In model proposed, this year…Texas would still have shot at AQ spot with A&M win and likely host round 1 against 3rd or 4th best from Big 12 / ACC.

We “let” him flip? So kind of us to “allow” a kid to pick his school. Do we do that often?

Liked a lot of Joel Klatt’s take in support of 24 Team format. Gaining support from college commissioners (starting with Big 10). It would make December even better than it already is for CFP imo. A quick summary of points (my twists on top of Klatt’s overall framework). https://youtu.be/FcIHsfqD4YI 1. Eliminate conf championship games. Use regular season conf records (and tie breakers) to name conf champs. 2. Each of Big 4 conferences get 4 AQ based on conference rules (conf record, head to head, common opponents, etc) 3. ND automatic if Top 20 plus 5th Conf Champ. 4. With 18 Teams locked (17 if ND outside Top 20), the remaining 6 spots at large based on CFP committee voting. This year that likely would have meant 4 more spots SEC and 2 more for Big 10. 5. CFP Committee determines seeding with heavy emphasis on SoS, SoR, Quality Wins, (motivates tier1 non conf matchups in Sept) 6. Tuesday following final season games is big announcement of 24-team bracket by CFP Committee. Second Saturday in Dec is first round of playoffs hosted by 9-16. Top 8 teams get a bye. 7. Third weekend of December is Round 2 of CFP hosted by teams ranked 1-8 against winners of round 1. 8. Quarterfinals played at 4 Big Bowl Traditional sites on NewYears (1 game NYE and 3 on NYD). Same as current format. Love it. NewYears back to being spectacular for CFP. 9. semifinals and championship continue as is. Not broken. Why fix? Love this model for lots of reasons, most importantly: 1) Eliminates conf championship games which are becoming more punitive (champs all lost first round CFP last season) 2) Two rounds of home games hosted at universities. Both rounds have predictable locations for advanced planning. 3) Allows for heavier inclusion from SEC / Big 10 with at 6 large but keeps heavy emphasis on conference play with 4 AQ per conf. Also, this model rewards playing big boy game in Sept. This model makes Big12 and ACC more relevant for stability and stop trend of ongoing realignment. 4) Most of all, it rewards teams getting better through the season and keeps lots of teams interested all season. Texas is a good example, could come in at 14, host round 1 but on positive trajectory headed into Dec. Hook em!! 🧡🐂🤘🏼

I was trying to point out that man and press man doesnt work well when you play that bdb defense. This blame does not fall squarely on Akina, it falls on PK and Orphey as well. 2nd, the guys they have recruited are man and press man types not necessarily zone, 3rd when you play 8-10 off you give up free first downs up and down the field=worn out d, dont care how deep your roatation is, 4th Sark is responsible for the whole team with an emphasis on offense, PK is responsible for the defense. Ive stated on here previously PK is a good coach, i do not think he is a championship level coach. Not saying he is the problem but he aint the answer either.

Not so sure it's bend but don't break he wants to play. Because they are one of the top teams in the country for sacks and they get plenty of pressure. There was a clear progression year over year with the secondary. Gideon/Joseph gone and an entire new room of DB coaches. Maybe they don't mesh well, maybe there's too many cooks in the kitchen, who knows. But apparently now PK is the problem lol. I can't say it isn't surprising though, I knew there would be a drop off but I didn't think it would be this big of a drop off.

Not so sure the issue is Akina. PK has always had that bend but dont break mentality. Difference is He had Makuba and Jahdae back there masking the shortcomings, and for some reason Taaffe has not been the same player this year, bad angles out of position etc.you are going to have a really hard time playing man and especially press man with that mentality and thats the players that have been recruited. Just saying the issue is much larger than Akina.
