  1. Past hour
  2. At face value this is not good, and I cannot stand how some of these players get developed here and then want to leave. This is lack of character on full display, which will haunt them down the road with their decision making. Weak minded individuals do not handle adversity well. With that, from 10,000 feet…. Carlton - Tough loss. She made a turn this year for sure. I love the way she uses her size, great with put backs, and she has a nice shot. She does not look to score enough however, she looks disengaged at times, and she is too inconsistent. Jordan - Smart, player who plays hard, and she has a beautiful, but inconsistent shot. She has been developed well. This would be a tough loss IMO. Vic started her all year. No idea what happened in Nashville, and I read that she’s tight with Preston, but where’s the loyalty to the program if she is truly considering leaving? Preston - Amazing quickness and speed. The staff has developed her into a great defender. I love her ability to take the ball to the hole, and I love the energy she plays with. I believe she can run the point here, but she is not a scorer. She cannot shoot from the outside, she has horrible rotation, and she is not good from the charity stripe. Crump - At one point I thought she and Carlton were going to be the difference makers down the stretch, along with our obvious constants. Then I watched her body language (absolutely horrible)…her defense is not good, and she was out of place, at the Michigan game, running rouge along the baseline, which is absolutely unacceptable. She has a beautiful shot, and early on she displayed the ability to slash. I think she has a lot of talent, but it will be interesting if that is ever fully tapped. Vic is an amazing and demanding coach. Wale up call…so is the real world. These ladies have an opportunity to play at one of the top institutions in the world and to be coached by an elite staff. I wonder if emotions, feelings, and excuses are getting in the way, Any player who has a problem with Vic staying with Maddie in the semi game is ludicrous. She’s one of the top 3 players in the nation, IMO the best. They can watch her represent team USA from the couch. Either way, we’ll rebuild. It would be nice to have a point guard that could drain it from the outside and still deliver the rock. Rori is my favorite player to ever wear the burnt orange. She is the definition of a champion. Holle displayed the same attributes. These “transfers” are missing that. If you want to play and execute on the court, then put the work in, and don’t take the easy, LAZY way out. Quitting is never the answer. HOOK’EM
  3. Today
  4. Who allegedly argued in the locker room?
  5. Of all the portal transfers, Makuba on defense and Quinn on offense get my vote for the biggest game changers.
  6. They likely got into a heated argument after the Vanderbilt game and said things. Look my ex and her sister got in an argument in their 20's, and never spoke again.
  7. Have a hard time believing the buckeyes don’t land this guy.
  8. And I answered with very few schools have money in WBB. This isn’t football or men’s sports. Most schools don’t invest in WBB except the blue bloods and new bloods competing for Final Fours/National Championships. Texas is one of the few schools that has 7 figures in WBB. Unless these players are going to SC, UConn, USC, Iowa or Tennessee, the money isn’t there for all players.
  9. Man I’m using them as an example to say “money is money” and if you leave Texas you can still do well in life. The argument was “they’ll regret leaving Texas”, like probably not.
  10. Lee is the one that makes no sense to me. She’s been the ultimate teammate. And Preston could be next year’s starting PG, but Texas is looking for one in the portal, so I can see her wanting to leave.
  11. Another championship won by a team built completely in the portal. That's just the meta now. If you look at the Michigan players, they are physically bigger, quicker, and taller than every other team. The way they defend and challenge shots is another level compared to what we got. We got a center but we need more skilled and physically strong players at SG/SF/PF.
  12. CDC knows better than you or I and he hired him so that probably means he thinks Miller is capable. Projecting is part of what you need to do when evaluating potential of coaches or players. Miller has Multiple elite 8’s and sweet 16 appearances, he’s a seasoned coach in his prime coaching years who knows what works and what doesn’t work, that all comes with experience. Texas has the athletic infrastructure and resources to build a contender with him. Not saying it’s going to happen but the potential is there
  13. Oh interesting. None of those would describe Lee though. I wonder if Vic's "no heart" call out rubbed some of them the wrong way as well.
  14. Rumors are an incident happened in Nashville and things haven’t been the same with certain players and coaches since. Let’s just say the Vanderbilt game makes a lot of sense now. Also rumblings of certain players with bad attitudes. Hence, lack of playing time and trust by coaching staff.
  15. Why do you think we have the coach "to do it"? He was running a better program at Arizona, with NIL before NIL was legal (which is why he lost the job). The coach before him did much better (23 straight trips to the NCAA tournament, four Final Fours, one championship) and the coach who came after also took Zona to the Final Four, something Miller didn't do in a dozen years and seven trips to the tourney. Being objective, Miller has shown he's an excellent coach but he has yet to show he's ready "to do it" when it comes to competing for the national championship. Let's see him make a Final Four or two first ...
  16. Oh really? Drama with who if everyone is leaving? Booker? Playing time is an issue for Crump but Lee, Preston, and Carlton will get tons of playing time.
  17. I'm excited about Itute as well but it will take her a bit to get used to the physicality of the SEC. Justice has already adapted and is more physical than most PFs and can hit 3s, But Itute and Crittenden are more skilled offensively for sure. We need to see who we get out of the portal if we're losing all of our experience except Booker.
  18. Rumors are playing time and drama in the locker room. Money isn’t the issue.
  19. Itute is better than Carlton. She's bigger and stronger than Justice. She played pro in Europe. Having said that, I love Carlton. Just like her manner.
  20. If Preston and Lee leave, we just need to add three from the portal to have 12 on our roster. I prefer the four stay, but it is what it is.
  21. Disagree with a lot. All of them except maybe Crump is about money. It will take time for all the freshmen to really learn and integrate into our system. Carlton would have been absolutely the starter and a force on our team. Crump was in a tougher position if Lee was staying and Booker and Lee was in front of her. Preston is a much better defender than either of the freshman coming in. This is where NIL really sucks because the last 2 years of great recruiting just goes down the drain. That's 3 5* talent we've developed entering the portal. We can potentially match some offers and keep them so just wait and see what happens.
  22. Agreed. Texas has to figure out the NIL situation for hoops. Michigan is a football first school and adapted to the current landscape of college athletics. But maybe they’re allocating more NIL money to basketball in exchange for some non CFP seasons in football. Who knows.
  23. With Lee and Preston it has to be money. With Crump and Justice it could be playing time. Itute and Crittendon are better than Carlton. And Bjorn is better than Crump. Jazzy Spaight and Holguin have quickness and are better outside shooters than Preston. I wish Lee would stay. We are Texas. We will fill the slots. I am beginning to reconcile the situation. What can we do? Just wish them well.
  24. the way this game was called by the refs made it hard to watch at times and Cadeau on Michigan is a dirty player that should’ve been fouled out. Nevertheless congrats to Michigan they were the best team all season. if a football school like Michigan can do this after only a couple years with a new coach, no reason Texas can’t compete for championships in the coming years and I think we have the coach and AD to do it
  25. Lots of schools are in similar positions.
  26. All these people downplaying losing Lee are out of their minds. Did any of you watch a single game this year?…. That girl is special. Huge huge huge loss.
