I have some doubt about Illinois too. Guards are most important in cbb and I'm not sure about their lead guard play. Not saying they'll be bad or anything, I just wonder if it limits their ceiling.

Because its their actual heights and you don't have to wonder who's got thicker heels, soles, etc boosting their actual height.

It’s not the kids fault if he wants to go to a school that can get him the ball. We haven’t shown the ability to showcase a receiver like this’s talent. Hopefully it will get better, but so far Sark has played with his food too much on offense.

I think he's a good player but let's be honest. Outside of Worthy and possibly Wingo, what other HS WR has Sark utilized and developed? All of his better WR's were transfer portal guys. So maybe it's jsut better to get some developmental guys and hit the portal for a top end guy or two. I'm more worried about the hit rate at TE and RB. Sanders and Helm were good TE's for the most part but ever since them, it's been really rocky. Same with the Bijan, Rojo, Brooks trio after them it was shaky, too. Just my opinion. Either way, Royal will make his decision. We'll either be happy about it or look elsewhere. That's just recruiting these days. You can't get as invested in it, because it's all NIL these days (mostly).

Sad if that’s true. Hoping cdc and sark simply value very basic respect and decency. Though, a few minutes later they were mugging with cigars in a tweet from a coach. Actions speak far louder than any prepped words. They are your responsibility, not friends. It’s a very fine line that they need to clearly differentiate. Shouldn’t need cigars, ill thought out celebrations, etc to have fun. The concern is Colin has long done things like over chirping or purposely bumping people unnecessarily, etc. Just make plays and others will hoist you up.

Agree with you Gerry, I had the same feeling and hope the young men get fined so they feel it and become proud to represent Texas like all of us are! Hook'em Horns and hope this is all behind us now.

And thank goodness there are still some people left in the world in places of authority with enough gumption and pride for our institution to feel shame and remorse for when people don't live up to the standard and expectations.

I’m not sure what one would consider a meaningful snap of football. If you like share a little more insight into the meaningful snaps you’ve played. Does that start at the college level?

I heard people including @CJ Vogel saying Colin got snubbed on defensive player of the week. He rightfully didn’t earn it by his one action. I do credit him for playing the rest of the game under control. But you don’t get that reward when you do that. Learn from it and get better big fella!🤘

While those stats tell a story, watching the actual game tells another. I’ve watched the tape at least 4 times now along with watching ball knowers like Film guy and Landon Tengwall, all agreeing that the constantly collapsing pocket and continuous pressure greatly affect the QBs ability to make the to made decisions. If you’ve played a meaningful snap of football , then you would know how those two factors affect your game. On top of that, I’m not even sure those statistics are remotely correct either. What, are they sitting there and calculating every single football game? Lastly, Watching the game back doesn’t tell me Faizon Brandon played bad. The tape tells me his offensive line was trash, he got hurt on a designed run, and was rattled the rest of the game. Give our defense credit, they made plays all day. PFF also rated the Tennessee Dline higher than Texas

I'm not sure this is about a total lack of discipline. It was stupid and misguided. But Colin Simmons has been nothing but a great example to Longhorn Nation up until this point. The question now is: how does he respond? Then we can get into character questions. It was stupid. Colin Simmons is 20 years old. He will learn and grow and be fine.

Stats/data all need to be taken in context. In 2021 is when I became particularly intrigued with PFF. I do feel as though I’ve gained some knowledge each year. And often as I see one data point, it brings about a different question for me. I never take one data point in isolation. For average time to throw, the overall time has less value than the categorization of it. For all of 2025, the QB with longest time to throw for the entire season was 2.86 seconds when kept clean. Faizon’s was 3.27 seconds when kept clean. His average depth of target on those throws was 7.8 yards. Of 168 qualifying QBs, that ranks 101st in deepest down the field when kept clean. Arch was 2.48 seconds and 8.6 yards down the field. So about 8 tenths of a second faster at almost a yard further downfield. Faizon was not good. These numbers indicate that Faizon is not being decisive with the ball or that he’s waiting to attack downfield. He held it too long for too little reward. For 2025, the worst rate of pressures converted to sacks was 36%. He was at 43%. If you’d like to add a little context to that Arch was at 13.3% last year. So not sure how you to spin that to say Faizon was not responsible for his share of the blame. So rather than complaining about the information I made a concerted effort to understand it better. I’d encourage others to do the same.

Coach Erwin nailed it on lunch with the coach. This type of conduct reveals a fundamental lack of discipline that if not addressed, will lead to us not achieving our goals for this team such that even the 5.5 sacks won't make up for it. Beyond that, treating it as being about just a 15yard penalty when it was a fundamentally wrong, indecent, and disrespectful action is an exercise in missing the point.

Eh, I feel you, but nah. Although if I was the opposing team or fan base, I would be more offended of giving up 5.5 sacks, than what he did as a celebration.

I hope it does not happen again. A) It’s vulgar and just no, B) I don’t want to see something like from Texas, C), I don’t want the penalty that will hurt the team, and D) I’m not sure I want to see what CDC could or would do if it did occur again.
