Anybody else think LSU and Lane enjoy being the villains? At least it’s not Texas. I do not want that smoke.

I’m really not trying to argue with anyone here, but guess i am 😀. All i was thinking was -- why is the SEC treating these differently?. The new bylaw does ban former NFL players, but OU has run every one of their recent additions through the SEC office and gotten them certified. LSU didn’t do that. LSU certified guys the SEC had already ruled ineligible, then used a judge to block enforcement. And yeah, both sets of players were minicamp‑only like Hutson - but that’s not what the SEC is fighting about. The issue isn’t “were they minicamp or preseason,” it’s “did the school follow the SEC certification process or did they defy the league.” OU followed it. LSU tried to override it. That’s the whole difference. This is just how I see it - not saying anyone else is right or wrong. I may even be wrong about all of this.

Not a lawyer but I assume this amended filing in a federal court is to give Sankey / SEC full power superseding any future Louisiana state court rulings on the matter, and includes the punishment clause so that the same Louisiana court can’t TRO the SEC handing out that punishment. Preemptive authority given to Sankey, including punishment.

They also were both similar to Hutson as just mini camp attendees not training camp and preseason rosters.

Not sure how the SEC can see it different considering they just passed a bylaw that says no NFL players are allowed on rosters.

Lane’s comment at halftime were childish and unprofessional. That guy is easily making LSU the most hated school in the conference.

Well just me but I know what we said about Hutson. And following the NCAA and SEC guidelines etc. But I would politely tell him thanks and good luck. Give some NIL for his school and move on. I realize the difference, but to me not worth it. And yeah OU might need to rethink as well. SEC may not be playing this time😂

Me either but at least the SEC is appearing to step to the plate and let LSU know that you can't do whatever the hell you want to whenever you want to.

Problem with that is Big 12 already said pretty strongly no pro players I think Lane might be turning toxic. Who wants the headache

I think Lane will continue to push the envelope and go more and more unless something comes down hard and says ENOUGH. Lane is a child

I would be shocked if they did but hell who knows what all else they know Lane and LSU have done.

I think this is a bad move unless they actually do something. Doing nothing would just embolden LSU in my opinion.

I don’t think they should kick LSU out, but I think this is more about asserting that they CAN if needed. Lane would be better off being a little less Lane, but they did look like a great team Saturday.

Can't imagine this is sitting well with the Royal camp. Lane trying to get pro players to replace his younger players who've been there.
