Here is an interesting stat, Texas has 145 shots with 66 on goal and their opponents also have 145 shots with 69 on goal. The difference, Texas has 15 goals while their opponents have 24. This could reflect less effective defense comparatively, but more than likely it means we have worse goalie play compared to our opponents. We are scoring 1.5 goals a game and giving up 2.4. Last year we scored 2.2 goals a game and only gave up 0.86. That is a goal per game difference of -2.24 goals between the two years.

Some of the free rushers to Baker's side have absolutely been schemed or checked into by the QB. Arch did it last year against MSU as well. If they bring 6 and we block with 5, one edge is coming free.

I don't think i've seen anything remotely close to this from Baker. I'll beat this drum until he proves me wrong but he is a weak link right now on the Oline. I've seen numerous free rushers from his side. Maybe its a scheme thing, but i don't think Flood and Sark are scheming for free rushers.

Never overlook special teams, this phase should be a neutral or win.

It's fairly balanced considering "usual" annual performance expectations of powerhouses vs cakewalks.

Encouraging stuff here. On the rewatch, there is plenty that Brooks will need to clean up, but that of course is to be expected in a true freshman's first time seeing the field. Yet often you see him climbing with success to the second level. Brooks moving as well as he does at his size is such a weapon for the Horns. This was an awesome rep here.

It was a foregone conclusion for us. Arkansas is meh for me other than what should be a fairly easy win most years. I’d rather have LSU or Georgia but I knew what it would be. Kinda jelly OU got Ole Miss. I’d love to go to Oxford every other year

Interesting that Bama wiggled out of LSU (or however that pairing ended up not occurring) and received Miss St. The Athletic and Sports Illustrated both predicted Bama / LSU were due to be paired.

They did a great job with the matchups. I was expecting to see one team get a cakewalk or another getting hosed but they kept this to a minimum considering the moving parts.

I really don't know what to think. It kind of reminds me of the Garret Gilbert situation. Hopefully, it turns out much differently.

SEC got it right for Texas. I know some would prefer LSU or Georgia over Arkansas, but Arkansas just made too much sense to be that tertiary permanent rival. Some of the other teams permanent opponents are a little shocking though.

The drone show was amazing. Wife took a video of it, but it is hard to do it justice. Bevo in a car, footballs being impaled on the turnover sword. It would be hard to find a better atmosphere than a night game at DKR. First quarter I got in trouble with the wife for singing the lyrics to NECK when the band played it. Have to think every recruit wanted to come here after that game. You miss all that on TV.

This and SEC roll call are must watches each week. I do admire the roll call guy doing it all on his own. Shorts has some funny people assembled.
