These guys are going to learn it’s not wise to burn bridges. How do they know some day these college coaches aren’t in the NFL or what if they are in the portal and they look to play for one of them? Or how about getting a job with a Longhorn alumni that saw the video? Just not a wise move. Could even hurt their NIL opportunities?

They will shell out for pretty much every player they want. Going to be interesting to see if it works. They are in the top ten again in basketball. Toppin is back for another year.

Watching different announcement ceremonies each year, it’s impressive to see kids (regardless of whether they choose Texas or another school) who show a lot of class and character, who are transparent and honest throughout the process then show humility, respect and gratitude (at the time of their decision announcement) for each of the schools who rolled out the red carpet for them over a multi-year process. The ‘hat fake’ is tired at this point, imho.

Sounds like an insecure kid trying to make a statement and failing miserably. He could have attended Texas if he was not so interested in the bag and being fawned over by a coaching staff.

Fully appreciate it’s one of the best days of his life. There’s a right way and wrong way to do things in the moment, imo. Ojo was a different level of classless with all the deception beforehand combined with the way he did his announcement. I’m not suggesting Finley comes close to Ojo, just think he could be better, especially given how great of a legacy his dad built at UT.

It’s not that deep. It’s a teenager picking a school on one of the best days of his life. He did not set out to disrespect Texas.

I thought the topic headline was Texas Hoops Recruiting Gays. Well, nothing wrong with that but it is probably the smaller group of Division 1 ready players, and how do we know who they are, anyway? So I read the article. Glad Texas is fishing in a bigger pond and I will get my eyes checked.

Thanks Gerry! No one comes close to your coverage of Longhorn basketball recruiting. I'm hoping we land Goosby, Ogden and either one of the PGs we are mentioned with or the PF Adkins. I'm thinking we can afford three blue chip level players (Top 60) and even that might be stretching it. The remaining spots will be filled once the season is over and we know who is leaving (NBA, graduation, transferring) with the transfer portal/international players
