Freshman WR Michael Terry III received reps at running back on Tuesday during practice. There had been whispers of Terry receiving some looks from the running back room late last week after getting the bump from the scout team to the actual practice squad for the offense and sure enough, that comes to fruition early this week. With Jerrick Gibson leaving the team and Rickey Stewart awol, an additional, capable body has entered the fold for Chad Scott and his room. I do not expect to see a lot of Michael Terry III on the field, yet. Through six games, Terry only has six snaps which all came against Sam Houston State. However, there is a plan to keep him involved with hopes of growing his role on the Longhorns as the season continues.

Portal for sure

I’m over Wiltfong and his predictions

do we go after another rb in high school or portal now?

Good luck to him

Mateer was bad against us. Wonder if it was the thumb, the defensive scheme putting him in a blender or a combination of both?

It's hard to say I agree. We saw him go and play against Michigan as a true freshman. Saw him play well multiple times (albeit to just fumble near the end) but I felt as though he was starting to make some hay. Hell, he played great against Sam Houston (who didn't), but for the staff to not even give him a run in his hometown just feels wrong. Especially with how the game was going and you need a spark against Florida. This is not to say I think Wisner is bad, I think he's great at outside zone and I love the toughness he brings but let's not get it confused, he cannot and will not be able to carry the load alone this year and I don't see Simon as a bruiser back. I think with Baxter being hurt you could've run him using some of the same plays (gap and power schemes) we saw them use against Ohio State, Wisner run the outside stuff, and Simon could blend both styles while also being a 3rd down back in the receiving game. Would've preferred to see more push to keep him around through the season.

I checked a little while ago and Gibson's name and bio page are still there. Stone's name is on the roster, but his bio page was gone.

Gotta get over the South Carolina hump in the SEC and go from there. This team will be cutting down nets if that happens. I think they'll have an offense capable of beating you both inside and outside to go with the tough defense you expect from a Schaefer coached team. -
https://youtu.be/oduF10TIUrw?si=2kvN9xXbewvjJHWM from Max Browne (former backup @ USC under Sark) ...... he also had a critique last week on arch's throws

I’m in also!

He’s just not as good as we thought and couldn’t hold onto the ball. Prolly be best he goes to play at a lower level school in florida.
-
Thanks for sharing he’s gonna be a beast!

He will graduate from I think Texas, he is in his 4th year (assuming he graduates in December). He was really solid for us, maybe the injury is still nagging so he wants the chance to heal and get to start somewhere on both FGs and KOs. Makes sense to me. Shipley did fine on Kos when he had to do them, not too concerned

His work ethic… humility… Elite quickness makes him my #1 . He is a Lockeroom goldmine… can we say “ coachable”

Gutted for this. My favorite RB on the roster. Really thought he would be our freight train inside zone guy. Writing was on the wall when he didn't get a touch in his hometown. IMO terrible mishandling of the situation by the staff and by the young man himself. Could've easily seen PT this week with a banged-up Wisner and with IT reporting that they do not expect Baxter to return. Just sad all around.

He left to preserve his redshirt so totally understand. Pretty sure not playing at Florida was the final straw for him and could see this coming a mile away. Was basically a fullback that had fumble issues. Wish him the best , and hope he gets the fumble thing figured out and has a nice career.

Think South Carolina lost key player for the year.
