  2. A lot of people underestimate how critical the AD role is - look at what CDC has done for Texas and what other ADs have not been able to do for other schools like Texas' rivals . . .
  3. It’s crazy seeing half ass programs trying to buy wins through the means of acquiring elite players. You can get all the studs on campus you want, But if you don’t have the supporting staff around them you’ll just be another 8-5 team with a bunch of overpaid players.
  4. Gonna believe it’s tennessee until gerry says otherwise.
  5. University of Texas head football coach Steve Sarkisian has been selected as a candidate for the 2025 Dodd Trophy watch list. The award highlights a coach who not only achieves competitive success but also upholds academic commitment, moral character, and strong leadership—principles rooted in the legacy of Bobby Dodd. Sarkisian is one of 26 coaches to be spotlighted in this year’s preseason group. He was also acknowledged during the 2024 season, appearing on both the preseason and midseason lists. In 2024, Sarkisian was a finalist for the Bear Bryant and George Munger coaching awards for the second year in a row. This latest recognition underscores Sarkisian’s ability to balance elite performance with a deeper focus on mentorship and academic integrity.
  6. How aggressive has Tennessee been with NIL and/or old school bag drops this cycle?
  7. Gerry I blame this all on you! Please get sick again! I don’t care if you have to hang out at a Drs office or hospital just go get sick now! Ty!
  8. Excuse me while I change my pants.
  9. OnTexasFootball doesn’t believe there is any new movement with 4-star++ WR Jalen Lott ahead of his July 8 announcement. 1. Oregon 2. Texas
  10. Texas 4-star++ LB Brayden Rouse will announce his decision July 8. As of Sunday, it’s expected to be Tennessee or Texas. The Vols have the long standing relationship with the family
  11. Is steve Patterson available?
  12. Baab started at guard as a true freshman and soph, then moved to center. Tremendous player who went on to a great pro career.
  13. What was it something like 7 of their defensive starters were in their freshmen or sophomore season last year?
  14. Today
  15. Lots of talent on that defense but also lot of bad habits and tackling. Will be interesting to see first game with a new d coordinator against Nuss.
  16. And its so great that Texas is finally, finally consistently playing in this sandbox, instead of a one off year here or there when the stars align... 🤘
  17. It’s unfortunate that Miami and Virginia Tech were on the way down when they joined the league 20 years ago. There was that point in ‘97 when North Carolina and Florida State were as talented as anyone in the country.
  18. I would bet Clemson to beat LSU, especially with that game at home. LSU and Nussmeier struggled heavily against teams with talented front sevens and Clemson should have one of the better fronts in the country this year. Which might be surprising to some given how easily Texas wa sable to move them around last year.
