  2. I predict that I will be at our tailgate by 8am and enjoy a full day of football with friends before heading into church aka DKR....
  3. It was also 5 Texas picks and 4 ole Miss picks when you said that. Not sure what else you would expect coming off two losses to mediocre teams.
  4. @Gerry Hamilton I realize you can only say so much; if you can’t say anything, I understand. But what’s your take on the % Sark sticks with Arch or we actually see some real change this Saturday?
  5. Cool man. Care to make a prediction on the prediction thread?
  6. We have a term for that... Talking out your So not putting your money where your mouth is?
  7. This team is not that talented. They're not that fast. They don't have electric players all over the field. They lost critical pieces to injury. It's so impressive Bates has them playing at such a competitive level. I hope and expect this bodes well for when Bates is able to bring more of her players into the program and build a national championship level talent pool.
  8. I’ve been harder on Sark than most and don’t have a lot of faith in the macro level view of the team right now. But I do believe Sark for the first time is looking at himself as part of the problem and not just execution. And after playing some wounded animals (ou / uf) we are now that wounded animal. I think we bite back. Texas 27 Ole Miss 21 Ole Miss scores a late TD and we recover the onside kick to seal it.
  9. I've already posted this, but Dylan Swain is the only player on that list that made it to the second weekend in March while at Texas.
  10. wrong, wrong wrong. Wins over OSU, Ole miss, Tennessee, LSU, Mizzou would lock us in,
  11. What are you going to do? I posted on Surlyhorns my regret about Terry being named the interim coach when it happened, in the sense if the team did well that year - and the roster absolutely was created to do well - he was going to have to be named the permanent head coach. Folks replied that I needed to just enjoy the season and not worry about that stuff...which, fair. But I knew Terry wouldn't be a good head coach, but I also knew he could still have a successful season with Beard's roster and Beard's staff. To Terry's credit, that team did make the Elite Eight. Those don't exactly grow on trees around here. Since the field of 64 was first instituted, Texas has four - FOUR! - of them, which is bonkers for a program that makes the tournament as often as Texas does over the last 40 years. To me it was worth the short term of Terry simply to get that Elite Eight. It's not like we kept Terry on for 6 years like we did with Shaka Smart. That TRULY drove me crazy. BTW, I'm firmly convinced with Beard as the head coach that team gets to the Final Four. Especially past that Miami team. But IMO you can't be arrested as the head coach for domestic assault and still remain the head coach. Not at Texas. Beard had to find a way to not get arrested that night, but he didn't. Blithely answered the door with the cops, convinced he could talk to them about his innocence, "Look! I even recorded the whole thing! Listen!" That is not how it works. The moment she called the police, go get a hotel room. Get the heck out of there. In any case, I'm glad we have Miller. But we're not out of the woods, yet. We need to keep momentum, hopefully string together a series of second weekend seasons. If we make it farther, great, but at least make it to the second weekend. We're not like Florida which can lose in the second round and not really miss a beat. They have already established their track record. Miller is only beginning to establish his at Texas. And a Final Four would be a definite chef's kiss. It's there for the taking. Grab a #2 seed. Play in Dallas in the first two rounds, San Antonio in the next two rounds. The team is constructed to be Final Four material for sure. But the nonconference record is a big factor in the eventual seeding, with only 4 games on the slate that matter. Florida comes super early in conference play, which is not to our advantage. Then it's the gauntlet through the SEC and the SEC tournament. Got to find a way. Get better over the course of the season. Play their best ball in March. Limit injuries after the Mikey Lewis setback. Get to Detroit.
  12. Y'all are looking at this from a Longhorns fan perspective (and I agree) I'm talking about the national media & haters narratives. OU might go 5-7 this year. Florida might not win another game with their schedule. That's definitely gonna be held against us when people start building narratives.
  13. Or guessing scores on a board for fun is very different from putting actual money on a group of very unpredictable and inconsistent mostly teenagers.
  14. I had us losing to Florida last week idk why but I think Vegas knows something and I am not sure how we do it but I think the horns win this week. 31-23 Texas.
  15. If Texas can’t score 31, I don’t see how we win.
  16. Ole Miss 30-24, but this season every game is just a total guess. Tough time for Simmons to be out. We seem to be able to get to 24 no matter what
  17. Ole Miss 9 Texas 29
