Not surprised about this at all. Time to accept that we’re rolling with some unproven commodities on the OL that were highly touted and have a high ceiling. LFG Hook’em

Don't do that to CJ. He has to eat too. How about some apple turnovers? -

I do a big cook-up over here in Australia every year for the SB. The fan favorite over the years has been my homemade chili. I also have an Aussie verison of queso which everyone seems to enjoy. Beyond that, I've done all the standards, but also some pulled pork sliders, pork ribs, cajun corn ribs, etc.

Tolerance for college football woes is waning
bourbasted replied to Junior's topic in On Texas Football Forum
The NCAA needs to get out of College Football, as they are destroying it through a lack of leadership. The changes (NIL, Portal, etc.) aren't necessarily causing all the havoc; it's the lack of clear direction from the governing body. The sport needs a commissioner, and yes, where we are now, sadly, a more NFL-centric model to put some guardrails in place for both the players and the coaches/ADs. I stopped watching the NFL, much like some of the others who commented, when I felt they were bringing politics into the broadcasts. I don't care whether you're red or blue, just keep it out of my sports, please. It's the last refuge for many of us to come together and enjoy each other's company, and one of the reasons I enjoy this community so much. I've recently started watching the NFL again, so I can keep up with some of our recent draftees (Love watching Bijan run, even if it is for Atlanta). FWIW, the 'wokeness' or whatever seems to have all but been eliminated, which is a welcome development. -

The evil empire known as the New England Patriots are back in the Super Bowl for the 10th time this century. Credit to them for turning things around after a 7 year hiatus, but this NFC Championship is the real Super Bowl imo. This is what the Dallas Cowboys should be if they had a competent front office. Nonetheless, good luck to all the Longhorns remaining in the playoffs.

Absolutely. Just waiting for a bunch of IMG style hs start popping up all over the country. Sped up type development and college prep for 4 and 5 star athletes feeding bigger college programs. It a shame it has become what it has. -

You picked a heck of a time to start watching. Last night was phenomenal.

To the two above posts, yes of course. If we end up in the playoffs and SEC championship we would play 2, 3, or 4 games against top 12 competition. We did play a number of top 12 anyway (regular season) whereas the only real top 12 team they played was Oregon until they got to the Big 10 champ game. I am not taking anything away from them because they handled their business, but their SOS for the regular season is not comparable. Even if the SEC is not as dominant at the top post Saban, it is still king of the competitive depth and the regular season SOS bore that out. (The top 10 sos was like 8 or 9 SEC teams)

College Football Playoff to remain at 12 teams this season
TTown replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
So if UT doesn't win the conference , they will be fighting for 1of 6 bids left.ND will be in with their schedule I would assume We can easily go 9-3 again with the new schedule and be in the exact same spot as last year. They won't cancel OSU so they better damn well beat them, or here we go again. Not easy to win on the road in the SEC , as we almost lost to cupcakes last year. Now go to Tennessee and LSU etc . Plus this OL that was to be given to priority oh never mind ... We shall see! -

Off topic, but I like that companies / studios are using budget to put out commercials during the Championship games and set up additional ads in the SB -
With how much college football is making, why would they change? You don't think keeping Texas out of the playoffs or that Notre Dame gets in unfairly (imo) gets a lot of fanbases riled up? Even after all the injustices this last season, changes were minimal and mostly kept the same. They got out their cost-benefit analysis calculators, and kicked it down the road indefinitely.

I always like to do a general theme for the teams in the Super Bowl. Either mascot or colors. E.g., if the rams would put some goat meat on the smoker with a honey blueberry glaze and if the broncos obviously some chili with cowboy coffee rubbed brisket and a habanero blue cheese sour cream.
