I feel like you need a good mix of experience and youth, otherwise you will be subject to potential massive swings in production. Having an offense of almost all 4th year+ players. This is a big deal that people underestimate. Experience and another year(s) of growth/conditioning is massive at that level. Sure there are some prodigies, but when you have teams that are comparatively talented, upper classmen on average will be bigger, faster, stronger, and just know more about the game. Vets vs. rookies.

Agreed. As a fan, I want entertainment. High profile non-con games is guaranteed entertainment. The possibility of making the playoffs is not guaranteed. So give me one more guaranteed fun game per year. Odds are we’ll win 50% of them, anyway. And if we do, it greatly increases our odds of making the playoff.

The 9th conference game should balance out the schedules and give everyone in the SEC more than enough in the strength of schedule department. This was also a weird year with the number of 10-2 teams. There were a lot of them.
