One of my favorite podcasts. A lot of good insight into the Athletic Department from many points of view. Bunch of good guys too. -
Thats true, but our big hitters are mostly from SEC country. Idk where cali and carolina fall though. But Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas (duh), Alabama etc. All places where SEC dominance reigns supreme.

I guess Tim Tebow wasn’t ready to dominate after sitting behind a guy that didn’t get drafted? -

Arch probably could have played. But that’s not what the head ball coach wanted. -
To be fair, this is what happens when you compete for the best players in SEC country

This is pretty much a good amount of the Texas haters in the SEC (especially the Aggies). They were hoping Texas would fall on their face and get dominated so they could laugh and say "now you're in the big boy league". Much to their surprise, Texas came in and competed in almost every sport, proceeded to win the all sports trophy, as well as the director's cup. Now they all have egg on their face because they can't bring themselves to admit that Texas was going to be good in whatever league they played in. Equally as funny are the big 12 fans who clap that they are ok without Texas and ou. It must have really pained Yormark to see Tech lose to the Longhorns in the softball championship because we know how much he loves Tech. -

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif went to medical school in Canada while playing OL for the Chiefs. He graduated in 2018 and got a Super Bowl ring in 2020. He retired from football during the pandemic. -

Quinn was a good executioner of short to intermediate passing plays when protected. He really was. He hit receivers in stride beautifully (especially RBs) but (always a but), he couldn't function off script and that's what we needed a couple of times last year and that's what NFL scouts saw. However, that does NOT necessarily mean what Spurrier seems to be implying (that Arch isn't as good as Quinn or else he would have started). At the beginning of the season, Quinn was the best QB on the team. He was absolutely fantastic vs. Michigan. He did nothing to lose his job from that point on. I think he was more hampered by injuries this season than we know but his play was good enough. There was never a reason to pull Quinn and risk QB growing pains mid season. There was too much on the line to play with fire like that. Spurrier is probably just pissed that the Longhorns are in the SEC, having success, and expanding their recruiting footprint all over the south east. For years, the SEC pooped on the Longhorns as an inferior team from an inferior conference. I think what is happening with the Longhorns scares them and little Stevie doesn't like it. The SEC expected Aggie Part 2.........but that's what they got. The team mocked for "being back" actually came back right in the face of the mighty SEC. Hook Em -

Stanford is a great academic school. Without question. However, to go somewhere where you don’t have an inkling who your head coach would be next year would be baffling given the amount of NFL money at stake, much less NIL money. -

Imagine having a plan and sticking to it. Spurrier just wanting people to pay attention to him so he's talking about Arch. Just like every Joe Schmo with a podcast. -

Really dumb comment by an ex HC. Quinn definitely had the experiential and analytic advantage. QB is not just a raw talent only position. Perhaps dementia gaining on the old QB? Just does not sound like something Spurrier would have said a decade or so before. -

That’s awesome! Cool to know the former longhorns that have become docs in addition to dr robin that said even if Turntine were to want to be a doc that would have to wait until he is done with an nfl career and he may be an early round pick with a long career. Rolle wasn’t in the nfl that long. And he took a Rhodes scholarship which looks pretty good on that med school app. Then neurosurg would be a seven year residency not counting additional years for fellowship. So it takes a rare breed to make a crap load of nfl money and then say I’m going to study like crazy for years then be on call every few nights for another 7 years. -
