Tolerance for college football woes is waning
Raistlin replied to Junior's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I generally just watch college football now. I watched most every Cowboy game from Roger Stauback until Prescott’s leg injury; I finally figured out that Jerry Jones was the real problem. I quit watching the NBA when the rules changed creating the clear out offense and the players just became chumps. No more Jordan, Bird, Magic, Barkley, Bad Boys of Detroit and in with the 7’ 3 point shooters and all-star game level defense. Then we started losing international games. Baseball lost me when they banned Rose and Roger Clemmons. Aside from college football, the powers that be have destroyed sports, and they are working hard to do it to college football. AND GET OFF MY YARD!!! 😁 -

Same as some of the above, gave up on a Cowboys when Jerry took over. Gave up on the other major leagues years before, phantom calls in the NBA no Americans playing baseball. Years ago somebody said they couldn't follow college baseball because all the players were new every year and here we are with the same crap with football. It was exciting to think how a player was going to develop from one year to the next now it doesn't matter cuz they're developed somewhere else. -

I put out a few leftovers last nite. A whole family of raccoons hustled onto the front porch and made short work of that. -

Sure did. Had a sobering moment then - I heard the 'crack' of limbs breaking, so I went outside on the walkway. We have a massive live oak in the front yard. I turned around to go inside, there was a loud explosion, and a large limb hit the ground where I was just standing.👀 -

Fair enough my man, but whatever you decide or even why you decided doesn't need an announcement. Just do it. Those of us who you interact with will notice your absence, but the guys at the top making the decisions won't. We all are equally frustrated, but telling us your intentions is preaching to the choir🤷🏿 -
Our trees and those I can see in the neighborhood all look good. That freezing rain a couple of years ago killed some of our younger trees by absolutely devasting and demolishing many branches and wreaked havoc on a few others. That really cold snap back in 21 also killed several of our younger trees, including 2 nice Monterey Oaks.

My back deck, looking over Walnut Creek and the pocket park beyond it, in northwest Austin, at 8 AM. No limbs down! -
How many touchdowns did the offense score this year? That constitutes as making plays and regardless how you feel everything starts up front. Were they as successful as I would have liked, no. But excusing a star player because he made plays is not playing to the standard. It's playing to a player and I know that for a fact. The standard is the standard.

If you don’t like it, don’t get so invested in the behind the scenes. Saturdays are the same as they’ve ever been. If you are on these boards you are seeing how the cake is made rather than just enjoying it after it’s served. -

Glad you’re staying! I want to add this. You’ll find folks on here that are somewhat negative and folks who are somewhat positive. And everything in between. But most importantly to me, rarely does anyone lose sight of the fact that we’re all wanting the best for Texas, just in our own way. In other words, Hook’Em first and foremost.
