This year, the first team out would be 9-3 USC. I don’t think the total G5 champ needs play them in this scenario. The total G5 champ in this scenario could be 15-0, 14-1 or 13-2. I think a team like that would deserve to be in without playing an additional game vs #16 USC at 9-3. I agree with the notion that the G5 should be included in the playoff. But the rigor that they have to show should be upped. I think a 4 team play in would be interesting and would make that champion deserving of being in

They're not going to do that. Nor should they. -

Would you really want Arch to go 4 quarters if Campbell and perhaps Goosby and Wisner aren’t playing? I don’t think losing to Wash in 2022 hurt us in the least. We came back rather nicely the following year. -
I also wouldn’t mind the first team out in week 15 to have a play in game vs the G5 conference champ. If you really want the 12 best teams you should not be giving the G5 an auto bid.
-
- Any participating team must be 9-3 or better - One autobid for each P4 conference. Let each conference decide how they want the autobid to be earned- if the conference wants it to be winner of CCG, highest CFP ranked team, etc - If a G5/G6 team is in the Top 15 (unlikely), they are in. If not, the only route is a G5/G6 play in. - One spot reserved for G6. Four G6 champion team, two round G6 play in. Winner of the play in gets the G6 spot - G6 teams could all start playing in Week zero so that their championship weekend is a week earlier (earlier CFB? Yes please!) and the first round of the G6 play in is concurrent with P4 championship weekend, with the G6 interleague championship in between P4 CCG weekend and the first weekend of the CFP.

We good on Ryan Williams. Can’t catch a cold. -
Hopefully, this helps retain Wisner. He would be the presumptive starter (or at least co-starter if we get a RB1 in the Portal). Baxter leaving clears the deck for more carries and more NIL. Wisner is a Day 3 pick in the NFL Draft based mainly on his special teams ability for a RB3. Another year in college with NIL won’t hurt and could increase his draft stock.

I suspect the money dries up soon. Expand the playoffs and make a few more bowl games playoff spots for the early rounds. -

The bowls will remain until sponsorship money stops flowing. One of the reasons why it has been good for conferences to go to a pool system for bowl payouts is because schools tend to lose money on bowl games. -

Now that the die is cast, there is a lot of value for a team to play an extra competitive game. Experience for players AND coaches. Culture. Revenue. Another chance for fans to see their team play. It’s a business and there is value for next year. I want to see arch a bit more and to see more of Lacey. I want to see more Simon. I want the seniors to pass on a culture moment to the younger players. I want the coaches to experiment. -

I can’t concern myself with Notre Dame either. I think they are cry babies though, and cutting off their nose to spite their face. Those greenhorns are exactly why they need 15 days of extra practice. You essentially get another spring. And since we don’t use ours properly anymore (OTAs, that IMO make us soft) I’m glad we have sucked it up, and decided to use these practices. -

I wouldn’t be opposed to that either, but the same people saying these bowls don’t matter and we should opt out would be out in full force saying Sark and the rest of the staff should be fired for poor performance. Damned if you do damned if you don’t.
