This is how PSU fans and the rest of the college football world view James Franklin and to a lesser extent, Dan Lanning.

He's won plenty of 'big' games, whether it be early season, rivalry, conference championship, or playoff, that if he had lost, he would have been crucified by his own fanbase. Are there any active coaches with wins against both Day and Kirby? If Sark wins Saturday, he'll have wins against Saban, Dabo and Day the last 2 years. 3 years ago, it was he couldn't win on the road, then it was he couldn't beat ranked teams, then it was he couldn't win a conference title, now it's evolved into he can't beat the top 2 teams in the sport. If he wins this one, then everyone will just turn their attention to how he can't be Georgia. Then if he beats Georgia, it will be that he can't win a national championship. Then if he wins a national championship, it will be he can't beat quality teams by double digits or something silly. There will always be a next roadblock people focus on. I wouldn't get caught up in narratives or reputation. That is for insecure rival fans and talking heads. Just like every narrative around Ryan Day up until 7 months ago.

This game doesn't matter as much to the Team goals of this season, but it certainly matters to Sark's reputation in winning big games. As CJ pointed out recently, lose and Sark's now 0-2 to Ohio State, 0-2 to Georgia, 0-2 to Washington, 2-2 to OU. Win the game and you shut that entire line of thinking up with another early season road win over a big name: Ohio State, Michigan, Bama.

These numbers aren't derived from Vegas so my numbers could look stupid to some. However, just having a little pre-season fun would y'all take the over or the under on the topics listed below? That actually concerns me about Mosley having the kind of impact this season that we all expected. It reminds me a bit of Silas Bolden. They both missed spring practice and came in during the summer. That meant they were already behind the other WRs on campus and did not have a rapport with the starting QB. Bolden was really damn good, extremely proven as a high-level college WR, and he could never see the field last year. This injury may have dealt a devastating blow to Mosley’s prospects this year simply because the staff has to roll with what they know at this point.

The way he answered the rest of the question about Mosley progressing as the season goes on leads me to believe we won’t see him this wknd. But we’ll see. Thanks for asking CJ

Sarkisian says he believes Connor Stroh has had an impressive fall camp. Stroh has been receiving first team run at times over the last week.

It's not included in the game notes package Texas sent out today. I wouldn't expect one to go public until Saturday.
