  1. Past hour
  2. i think OU/tech/Aggy getting in along with vandy who we beat is what is the most disappointing.
  3. Not a waste at all. We had an insanely tough schedule beat 3 top 10 teams, saw a young team mature, and watch Arch get better every week. I’m not counting us out yet. If SMU beats UVA maybe Miami doesn’t get in, maybe the committee shows us they want some insanely big draws and money in the opening round game if they put Texas in against a Tech, Indiana, Oregon, ATM, SMU, UGA, Bama, OU, or OSU at their place. That makes for great ratings AND gives the football world the message games matter, wins or losses not conference championships. We have an argument against every 2 loss team right now. I’d say this season is a great growth season for a program that continues to succeed even when we’re not playing our best ball.
  4. Agreed, 9-3 was a reasonable expectation. In my eyes the oline was inexperienced and/or young which should have been changed sooner. Also look at past history in the SEC on how many times someone gets the unexpected upset Ask Lane Kiffin. We also lost a lot of talent with the draft and it caught up to us. These young bucks are showing a positive improvement and trust from Sark. For Sark most everyone is complaining about his play calling. Is it his play calling or timing of the the plays called which I look back is the most likely.
  5. Excuses are like asshol*s, Everybody’s got one.
  6. So we get to read your trauma dump because you don't like your friends laughing at you. Got it
  7. We had to have been the last team Florida played at full strength. They’ve been without nearly all their big time players since the Texas game
  8. We have most of the team back next year, so the growth and resolve built here and now will be huge in ‘26… wasted would be 7-5 and not showing resolve in those OT games.. wasted would be dropping to OU and A&M. But showing heart and growing is never a waste
  9. Guess they forgot to show up against Bama.
  10. I have no problem playing tOSU if our league schedule is weak. Slurp would be in the CFP even if they lost to ND - because they didn’t play anyone in the league until they played us. But if you have three rivalry games, UGA on the road, Vanderbilt, etc., it makes less sense.
  11. Going to 9 conference games will automatically give us high SOS which the committee obviously doesn't reward. Going forward there is no point to these games and the goal should make the playoff.
  12. Or we could’ve taken care of business when we were supposed to against a 4 win florida team 🤷🏾‍♂️
  13. Yeah as long as it’s a 12 team bracket (really 9-10 with g5/bad conference champs) these games hurt more than help for SEC teams which is a bummer. Though moving to a 16 team bracket will give enough room for good teams to still get in. There seems to be a huge drop off around 14-15 every year rather than at 12 you’ll recall last year bama/USC/ole miss all were good teams left out that would’ve been in with a 16 team bracket.
  14. Nope, I say fix the playoffs, it starts by respecting our tough schedule and rewarding quality wins AND losses.
  15. That would be weak and timid which isn’t the Texas way.
  16. I know that many will disagree. That’s why this site exists - to dialogue. Texas needs to focus clearly on one thing - The Playoffs. Period. It’s not about being scared. One less loss is all that matters. It’s fun and exciting to open the season with a NAME. We all get that. But, the ROI simply is not there. When our name does not show up in the bracket next Sunday, it will sting bad. This is avoidable with a strategic aim at what is more important. The SEC is a gauntlet enough. CDC - drop the game. It’s the smarter thing to do. I’ll trade that shiny game for the playoffs. This seems simple. Drop it! Hook ‘Em
  17. UGA is a complete team. They don’t, however, always ‘show up’ with their A game. But in big games that matter they will show up.
  18. Amen to that, especially that last sentence! 🤘
  19. More people care about beating OU and Aggys than anything you have to say. So to your opinion - who cares
  20. The season was not a waste. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure, I could have enjoyed it more. But if you didn’t like watching Texas develop as a team, then I think that’s on you.
  21. Agree. Disappointment ≠ waste. Yes the losses sucked but there were some great moments. And more importantly I got to share those with my family and you freaks on this site. Viewing that as a waste sounds like a miserable way to live.
  22. While I wholeheartedly disagree with the OP’s assertion that this season was “a waste” it was disappointing at several levels. However, I am proud at how the team battled back from adversity and ended the regular season on a high note. The future is bright and I am looking forward to whatever bowl we wind up playing.
  23. Did it make sense to anyone why atm deferred to the second half seeing as Texas was so short at LB and they were going to get Tyanthony back in the 2nd half? The Longhorns played their most complete game of the season and the 2ndary finally quit playing so far off.
