My upset pick yesterday was the High Point over Wisconsin. Shout out to ESPN's Matt Schick for that one. I listen to Dusty and Danny every morning on Sirius and they had Matt on last week and he said watch out for High Point so I chose them based on that and it paid off.

If UConn shoots the three well in the key games, they are the favorite. 39.5% from three with over 9 makes against is very high end in the womens game. Someone has to catch them on their bad shooting night, if they have one. IMO

Yeah, I am still bitter that we were robbed of getting the dream 5A matchup in 2001 of the seeing Willowridge with the #1 in-state senior TJ Ford & the #2 in-state senior Daniel Ewing vs The Colony with the #1 in-state junior Bracey Wright & #2 in-state junior Deron Williams. 2002 was a special year as all of those top teams and players played each other that year. Bryan Hopkins was absolutely special before some foot/ankle injuries and from my understanding almost ended up at Texas if it wasn't for SMU swooping in and also offering his twin brother a scholarship when his twin wasn't even good enough to see the floor at Dallas Lincoln HS much less on a college basketball team. Hopkins was largely viewed as a better player(not prospect) than Bosh in high school.

So what is this marvelous Champion chip of which you speak? Is it like a really big cookie? Certainly it is not as great as a Championship like the one they recently won in the SEC?

The women start their journey to a chip tomorrow but I really do believe this is the year for Vic and the women. They are battle tested and everyone is playing well right now. The team has a lot of versatility to matchup well against all kinds of teams which bodes well in the tournament. We have the easiest draw of the #1 seeds and we're playing in Austin and Dallas. Plus, we've pretty much beaten every contender except UConn and no team does well against the Texas pressure defense the first time they play Texas. UConn hasn't felt heat like our defense brings every game. So many things lined up this year, it's just up to the women to stay focused every game.
