I won't post every highlight on this thread but this play last night was amazing. A diving dig and a scramble to get the ball over the net, followed by another diving dig to set up the point winning kill. This team is talented and incredibly scrappy on defense. They won't allow teams to score any easy points on them.

This is a great point and a good time for this team to hopefully learn this lesson. Sports like Volleyball and Tennis are interesting because you can't build a lead that carries over to the next set. Up 2 sets to 0, well, that 3rd set starts off 0-0 once again and you've got to start from scratch building an advantage.

This is what makes their defense gimmicky. Their back seven is below SEC average. They can blitz, but they can't get home without gimmicks, which exacerbates their coverage problems when you have a QB that can avoid pressure. This is not a good match-up for the criminals regardless of who plays QB for them.

Criminal scoop reported yesterday that they're "hoping" Mateer will be back when they play Ole Miss. That's two weeks after Texas. The criminals will try to act like Mateer could play against Texas, but it doesn't matter. Prep for Hawkins or Mateer will be basically the same.

I'm not a believer in how good that defense actually is. 🤣 but take my opinion with a grain of salt because I never think our upcoming opponent is. If BV isn't blitzing they don't get pressure and can't cover on the backend. Their linebackers in coverage are a huge liability. If the screen and swing pass game comes together it's going to be a long day.
