This team currently has 7 3-0 sweeps in a row. The record is 9 in a row, completed twice in the 2007 and 2009 seasons. In 2004 the team had 8 consecutive sweeps. In 2009, the team won 30 consecutive sets during that 9 match sweep streak. They could have run the streak to 15 matches but they dropped a set to #6 Nebraska before reeling off 9 consecutive sweeps. They beat two ranked teams during that streak. The team lost to penn state in the championship finals. The 2007 streak of 9 sweeps included 30 consecutive sets won and wins over ranked OU (twice) and #1 Nebraska. That team lost to #5 USC in the Elite 8. The 2004 run of 8 consecutive sweeps came at the beginning of the season and included no ranked opponents. They won 24 consecutive sets. -

Tennessee is ranked #17 and is the 4th highest ranked team in the conference currently. Texas will need to continue their sharp play to win this one. Can they extend their streak of winning sets? -

Wow...Kaden is an excellent athlete in his own right. And that's freshman film, so we can watch him develop. Their parents should have had more kids! lol -
The fact that Longhorns, Aggies and Sooners are in agreement that this article crossed a line speaks volumes that someone at The Athletic, at the editorial level, massively dropped the ball.

Fast twitch athlete who has made tremedous improvement over his soph year. This recruitment is going to be crazy. Basically, he can everything and how good he becomes is how good does he WANT to be? I like him for sure. I know many posters disgree with me, but that's my limited assessment based on film provided and nothing else. -

Tech IMO -
Gerry talked about it before the season but this article coming off of that gritty performance may just be what it takes to galvanize this team and have them pissed off to support their QB the rest of the way!

Aaron Murray’s was an ok watch, except the TD. He lucked into the TD? Aaron can tell that based on where his helmet is pointed? How do we know Arch isn’t looking off the other deep safety? These still frames are cool, but check downs are tough to get to under immediate, constant duress. It’s one thing to hold it too long and not check down, but I didn’t have that complaint too often on Saturday. He didn’t even have time to let the initial read mature. - Today

I’m positive I’ve never looked to the NYT for football analysis and I’ll continue with that mindset. Thanks for helping further confirm that we’re not missing anything there

I’ve wrestled with this. I wonder if it’s similar to the Akina / Manny issues in the recent pass. Philosophical clashes. I think he clearly has value but I wonder how he identifies and addresses blind spots. As a leader, I always try to hire those that think differently, better, etc. so long as we are grounded on the outcome(once decided, simply can’t have folks rowing in multiple directions that’s why it’s crucial to involve them in the decision process). It’s a simple concept but not always easy to execute. Does he need a specific specialist for developing large humans? Do they test/contrast weight room strength against playing strength, etc. I’m not a baby bath water guy. Hell, even for Flood, if his concepts are still fresh and effective, maybe he needs someone that teaches better. Teaching and transferring skills are far less common strengths for people in general. It’s way beyond parroting and repetition. Though, for what he’s paid, he probably should be able to do both? 🤷🏽♂️

Yes the story was unfair in many ways. Arch has issues for sure. But man he is tough and you can see some good things are starting to click. Plus behind that line it is so hard to evaluate him fairly also . Shut em up by better play because those stories are already written about his failure just waiting to be published. Then all you will see is an agenda for clicks that won't match his achievements.

I linked a video with Aaron Murray discussing Archs eyes and reads. -
Just watch the latest IT video where they review the all-22. This line is absolutely abysmal. Weak, bad technique, undisciplined. Kyle Flood absolutely has to go after this season

He’s at SMU. Now a 3 year starter. I don’t know but pure speculation on my part is that he was not a Flood recruit so expendable. Different situations for sure, but he’s probably had a better career than Hutson. -

Influx of casual newbie know nothing's unfortunately. Calling out seasoned coaches like the the OP did highlights how irrelevant these types of band wagon jumpers really are. -
