Agree on the single play, even if it’s the last one. Guards should be somewhat easy to hide. I’m certain there are quite a few out there that aren’t good. I’d love to hear the behind the scenes discussion here. Part of me feels like there was internal conflict amongst the staff. But in spite of what happened there, it was that we weren’t rock solid other places. For me, I’d expected better play across the board early and really that LG had the lowest expectations. Guys just need to pick each other up, and it didn’t happen enough.

Really strong analysis and 100% agree with your points. Just like no single play determines the outcome of a game, no single player/position determines the outcome of a game (not even QB). The other thing that comes to mind, is if I noticed a single weak link in the armor I'd be far more concerned about the lack of schematic adjustment to mitigate the issue. I mean we're talking about an interior lineman here, short of Safety, perhaps the least critical position on the field.

Some added depth, been a great portal season. l am content to sit back and watch the process, folks should know coaches know what we need and know what’s available and might be available. I get the feeling weds entrants will be a major letdown. We would’ve heard about players planning to enter as we have throughout the process. Seems like the 11th hour secret entrants were just trying to renegotiate a return- like the guy who just returned to Texas. If they were really considering leaving, it would’ve been public.
