  1. Past hour
  2. The Bowl game is an exhibition that allows for multiple weeks of practice for the returning players, some of whom have not played significant minutes. It does not matter if Texas wins, although we would prefer that outcome. It only matters that returning offensive linemen who haven't played get to work out together for two or three weeks. Win or lose, seeing the "new": interior linemen, say Kibble, Cruz, and Brooks, working smartly together as a unit would be worth it to our team. Seeing them screw up again and again would be a lesson, as well. We get to watch and learn.
  3. @CJ Vogel What if the plan all along for PSU was to scrap recruiting this year and just go hogwild in the portal. They are big enough to be able to buy their way out of this hole. Saving the recruiting NIL money for portal.
  4. Did I miss something? Is Royal thinking of reclassifying?
  5. You don’t say? I actually thought losing to Florida was a good thing, so thanks for clarifying
  6. Pressure will be off Campbell for a few years with this recent coaching hire/recruiting debacle.
  7. The amount of pride i can feel from the OP when they posted is great! How long did it take you to figure out the formula and come up with this great insight?
  8. Different conference so Franklin has an easier path. Would love to see him win a natty before the PSU make the playoff again haha.
  9. I’m guessing Jimmy Sexton doesn’t rep him haha. Failing forward is better than what Florida, Arkansas, and Auburn have done IMO.
  10. Now that's going to be interesting. Hadn't thought of it like that just yet.
  11. Another useless thread about the CFP, Huh? Shouldn’t have NEVER lost to florida and this conversation wouldn’t even need to be had.
  12. Wow, I didn’t realize not losing to UGA would have made us 10-2 with another top 10 win! 😂 The annoying thing is that people and the CFP committee don’t take into account the actual way the game was played, just the final score. And they’re not even consistent with it. For instance, the following combination: 1. Texas had the ball with the ability to tie both the OSU and Florida games late in the 4th quarter. But we got “dominated” 2. Texas was up on Vandy by 24 pts in the 4th quarter before starting to play prevent with backup DBs and run the clock out. Vandy was down by 10 pts until 33 seconds left. The last they had the ball with the opportunity to tie the game was their first possession, a 4 play 4 yard drive ending in a fumble. But that’s a “close game” and not “domination”
  13. It will be interesting to see if Campbell does better at PSU than Franklin at VT.
  14. It's amazing Penn State failed into the best hire they could have found in this cycle.
  15. Yeah definitely a big change compared to where he's been for a long time. That said, if it actually happens, I think he's a better coach than a lot of the other names bandied about for the position. Not sure that means he'll do any better than Franklin or finish any better than 4th in the Big 10 every year.
  16. I contend the biggest factor in our record that hurt our CFP rating was the drubbing by Georgia. 1) A 25 point loss was disgraceful 2) any type win against UGA would have made us 10-2. And another Top 10 win.
  17. Today
  18. All these coaching changes hopefully will push a lot of quality players (OL!) to the portal
  19. We’ll see how he does at a place where he’s expected to win and win quickly versus ISU.
  20. Feel bad for the isu recruiting class
  21. He will be fine. He can rebuild so much more quickly with the portal now.
  22. Good luck to him with the 2026 recruiting class.
  23. Money is the cause of much of this no doubt. But fans have clamored for playoffs for decades. With that those with the most power were never going to be satisfied getting shorted their seats at the table and their dollars. People are complaining about the top 12, but it’s also the seeding that matters too. That won’t change. If you expand it to 16, you’re introducing more into the argument. And you still have the issue of too many teams with too few games in unbalanced schedules. With 16, you’ll have to do something with the conference championships because now there’s no byes. Right now you get people arguing over Miami versus Notre Dame because they won a coin flip game late on a FG in the first game of the year. Is it the best 12 teams or those with the seasons? I’d say Texas and Notre Dame are both top 12 right now based on the available information. Theres more of a debate whether Notre Dame and Texas have had one of the 12 (or 10) best seasons. In my opinion they have. With each attempt to get the playoffs right, you give away something that was meaningful over the 100 plus years of college football that made it a special thing. Bowl games and conference championships meant something. You know what season was perfect? Texas-USC. Last year Ohio State didn’t even win their conference but were national champs. Not making the conference championship likely helped that effort. The super conferences are the only way to get this consistent. You can schedule as you like in non-conference cause advancement is not dependent upon it. You can then somewhat balance the conference schedules. Then the divisions within the conference determines who advances. It sounds terrible, but that’s the path.
  24. Wonder why it took them this long. He should have been one of the first options.
  25. If there is no increase to the total pool of money from which we can pay the extra players I agree the intramural fields is where we should recruit!
  26. Also might be able to hang on to more of those kids thinking about leaving as well
