Additional HM... Sark for sticking with the run in the gameplan and Arch. No turnovers nice td run. Not sure how much lattitude he has to audible but there were very few plays especially in the 2nd half -

Of course, and I think that perspective had more weight five years ago. In a world where everyone can pay players, what is LSU? They'll hold serve on Louisiana recruiting, but run into pressure on high ranked out of state kids with matching financial offers who are not inclined to live in a dump. On Alabama, this is the same program that may lose a coach to Penn State - yes, a traditional power but one that has not beaten anyone for a period of several years.

Seems the same that if the committee is going to say they are not going to penalize for playing a conference title game, then a non conference game with a top 10 team should also not count as detrimental. -

I sure don’t. I’ll take USC over OU any day of the week. Now I would find it funny if he does leave USC for another land locked school in a second tier conference.
-
I would be shocked if any contributor sits out of the CFP for Ole Miss. If for some insane reason they’re excluded, I hope they all sit

There are very few blue blood/plum jobs ... Alabama and LSU are two of them. The vast majority of a coach goals is to get to one of those jobs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA9SKQ5v9A8

I’ve never understood why folks resent Riley for leaving OU. He’s a Texan that wasn’t comfortable at OU, he set their program back years, seems like a good dude.

Here’s my only hypothetical: 1. Ohio State (BIG) 2. Indiana 3. Georgia (SEC) 4. Virginia (ACC) 5. G5 winner 6. Oregon 7. Texas Tech (B12) 8. Texas A&M 9. Ole Miss 10. Miami 11. Notre Dame 12. Texas 1) We have to be ranked over Utah, Vandy and OU on Tuesday night for this to work. 2) Bama gets destroyed in SECCG game committee picks 9-3 Texas over 10-3 Bama 3) BYU 11-2 big loss to Tech - OUT 4) Utah, OU and Vandy get shafted. -

How is Tech ranked ahead of Ole Miss and ATM? What a joke. BYU at 11. The addition of Texas and OU to the SEC made this conference insanely strong. If we just want to put in the best teams in the nation to fight it out, the SEC has a really strong case for 7 teams! If my team was usually in the bottom half of the SEC rankings, I would not be happy. -

All valid points but it’s a tough argument to win when there are so few spots available: 1. Ohio State 2. Indiana 3. Georgia 4. ACC champ 5. G5 team 6. Oregon 7. Texas Tech 8. Texas A&M 9. Ole Miss (May be effected by coaching) 10. (another G5 conference if Duke wins ACC) 11. 12. So you're basically looking at 2, maybe 3, maybe 4 spots between: Miami 10-2 Notre Dame 10-2 BYU 11-1 OU 10-2 Alabama 10-3 (if losing to Georgia, if not they're both in) Utah 10-2 Vandy 10-2 Texas 9-3 -
Because he believes, like a lot of people, that the LSU job has a much higher ceiling than ole miss.

At least it’s easy for him to make the argument with all the quality data he has! He’s not just out there trying to drum up support for a mediocre schedule. He has legitimate points that could have long lasting implications on college football. Imagine if basketball did the same format? It would be a mess too and you’d get zero quality games early in the season like a Texas UVA or Kentucky Duke. Instead you’d have a bunch of sacrificial lambs until conference play happened and no real idea how good teams actually are for the viewer or more importantly the players themselves. -
One has to wonder how many potential portalers sit out Ole Miss post season games??? 🤔

Exactly why Texas under CDC needs to challenge the NCAA and the Committee for gross incompetence for its initial rankings. It was performed on a fan basis as opposed to a due analysis basis. They prioritized absolute loss number number over head to head and strength if schedule numbers. If the NCAA is allowed to penalize programs for seeking competitive schedules, the the decline of NCAA viewers is guaranteed. No one wants to spend 3 hours watching any SEC team beating up on Samford level teams. CDC needs to take the bit in his teeth and demand answers from the Committee based on the facts. If he dies not get them straight up or a correction in seeding, sure the NCAA and ask for an injunction to suspend the playoffs. That will get their attention. And the NCAA will always fold!! Carpe Diem!! 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿 - Today

Part of that paycheck is going full politician mode, I am sure this falls in the unglamorous part of being a head coach lol -

I’m not disagreeing if there will be attrition but it still begs the question regarding that class on evals and development. A lot of money frozen on the sideline. -
I don’t think one game is evidence. Yes FSU looked bad but you can’t speculate that they would be destroyed in the playoffs. Oregon looked good last year until they played OSU. FSU may or may not have won a playoff game. Ole Miss is losing their offensive identity. Pete Golding has never been a head coach. While Ole Miss has dudes can Pete Golding manage the game to win? Doesn’t matter if you have dudes if you don’t have the right coach look what happens. Look at Franklin can’t win the big game even with all the dudes he had. just saying Ole Miss is not the same team without Kiffin. Doesn’t mean Ole Miss can’t win but the dynamics does change a little.
