Not disagreeing with you I’m just trying to figure out what killed his confidence, I’m at the point of blaming HR lol

Could be true but ever since then our QB has looked like a deer in headlights, same way he looked for the first couple of weeks last year. Shook tf up and can’t get out of his own head

My biggest question is how did every ounce of confidence this team had after beating Ohio State just simply leave them after that Holly Rowe incident? Also is there a way where Texas runs the table, gets into the SEC championship game but loses. Could they still make the playoffs as a three loss team? I know it’s a stretch for that to happen but this season has been crazy so far.

If that time calls for KJ, then by all means let him give it a go. But calling for him to start over Arch Manning with Ole Miss coming to town is just not smart. Why put the fate of the season on a backup QB who has never played true competition in real time? I get replacing Arch mid way through the game if nothing changes from Arch to try to get something going for the offense, but willing throwing him in the fire and expecting results fast is just wishful thinking. I’m not saying I’m disagreeing that arch isn’t playing good whatsoever, but we cannot pressure another QB change and expect results. Same thing happened with Quinn and Arch and look how that turned out. I remember people calling for Arch because Quinn couldn’t navigate the pocket like him or like he could the years before, same thing is happening to Arch. You don’t just regress after two seasons just because. This is a coaching problem that needs fixing.

Okay obviously this Texas offense has been putrid to say the least. Im going to give a couple of my takes on what Steve Sarkisian can do to save this season because all hope isn't loss yet. Start seriously considering a QB change. Of course Arch has been playing a really bad brand of football these past two weeks, but I can't quite give up just yet on a quarterback as talented as him. I'd start him this next game against Ole Miss for this reason, I just think it'd be unrealistic and unfair to put KJ Lacey in a situation where he has to come in and be the saving grace of this offense, it's what the fans thought Arch would do in 2024 and obviously those expectations were too much for him. Of course if Manning is still not making the easy decisions in the first half, which is my third reasoning to fix this offense, then its time to put in KJ before the game is already lost. 2. Change the play caller Sure this is a big radical change, especially in the middle of the season, but this is the main thing that needs to happen regardless who the quarterbak is. Whoever would take on this dauting role, whether that be Milwee, or Flood, or even Chris Jackson, they need to recognize that there is a whole lot of problems right now than just Arch Manning. At this moment in time, Steve Sarkisian's offense has been way too predictable at times, leading to a whole bunch of inconsistencies and three-and-outs. A new change in scenerey is needed. 3. Change the idenity of the offense Right now Texas needs to quit running its "ideal" offense and run what works for them. No longer should every pass play be for big game hunting. They need more quick and easy throws, like a slant or some shallow crosses and spread the defense out. The run game needs to be simplified down to what they have been having succes with. This includes forcing Arch to run the ball and get him out of the funk he's in right now of holding onto the ball for way too long. Our players need to be utilized at what they do best. For example, this recieving core reminds me a lot of the '23 class, and in that class each reciver had its role. There should be no excuse on why the pass game shouldn't be at its full potential. You have the best 50/50 ball reciever in the country, but never scheme him one on one shot plays down the sideline. You have not one, but two electric recivers in Bishop and Wingo, and yet, not enough plays are called for them to go out and spread the defense out with their speed. Lastly, you have a great physical blocking reciever, who doubles as probably the guy with the best hands on this team. Use him as your safety valve always. Finally my last thing about changing this offense, Texas desperatley needs to utilize their tight-ends. What they're doing to help right now is almost nothing. 4. Start holding the offensive line accountable for their poor play The lines poor play has been a really big reason on why Texas doesnt have a run game right now, and worse why Arch isn't able to have time to progress through his reads. (Obviously when he does, hes still not making the right decision but poor oline play isn't helping.) It's time to hold Kyle Flood accoutable for his coaching. If Texas goes out next week with a way more simplified offense, and the line still isn't giving any push, then coaching might needed to be reassessed. Reevluate personnel. Our right side of the line just isnt doing a good enough job. That needs to change. Of course the main goal isn't to protect Arch, or Sark, or Kyle Flood's offensive line, its to make sure Texas is winning football games. If in the next couple of games nothing changes, it's time for change to come into this program. My priority order: play-calling first, offensive identity second, quarterback change if necessary.

@Marcus Myers my question to you is, why has Texas regressed, specifically Arch, in the same playcalling system from the year prior? Something has to be going on behind closed doors that we don’t know about, because it’s almost impressive to have regressed as an offense with all the talent you have. Just doesn’t make any sense to me. I guess there’s just no air in the atmosphere offensively.

Oh boy, I totally forgot to mention the inability to have any answers to the blitz!!!

(Im just venting about the way coach Sark has coached this season so if you even read this take it with a grain of salt.) I made a post last week after the OU loss about how nothing will change with this program until someone (Sark) is sick and tired of being sick and tired. Nothing will make our head coach give up the play sheet because frankly why would he? If he understands his job is on the line, he is not simply going to cave in and give the duties of calling the offense to another coach. It doesn't work that way. The only thing coach Sark can do to save this season and himself is to reevaluate what he's doing all around as a head coach, not just as a play caller. There is not any excuse for his team to play as undisciplined as they do. By undisciplined I don't simply mean committing a lot of penalties, which they somehow and mind boggling do. What I mean is, there isn't an excuse for Arch Manning to have regressed the way he has from last season. There isn't an excuse for the special teams to be as bad as they've been in moments this season. There especially isn't an excuse for the offensive as a whole to be out physicaled. The run game hasn't been what it was led to be. The line has been just simply ran over, and really bad these last two games. All of these issues come down to the way these players are being coached. It's not as simple as it just being a disconnect from practice to game time. The disconnect is not coaching this team to their best of their ability. You couldn't convince me after the Ohio State game that we would be sitting here on October 17th with a 4-2 record, let alone who this team has lost too. That is a coaching problem. Not a player to player problem. You could blame Arch for not being where he should absolutly be, or the offensive line for not progressing from last season at all, but it ultimatley is the head coach's fault for letting that happen. I want to talk about the OSU game for a second, specifically the fourth quarter. The way the team was coached during that quarter reminded me so much of the 2023 season. Man, Texas really played their style of ball that season. Sure they didn't win it all, and some would say that they were a Jonathon Brooks injury away from doing it, but they played hard every game. The two losses they had, they didn't simply roll over and let their opponent control the game. They fought, and thats what made them great. Texas showed that on September 12th against Ohio State, well for at least a quarter. But one game is all it takes for you as a coach to instill confidence into your team. Coach Sark just simply didn't do that this year. I truly believe he let some media AI gag with Holly Rowe rattle his QB. There's no way as a coach you can let that happen, especially to the type of player Arch Manning is (head shaken). Instead of blocking out the noise and playing your style of ball, you caved in and let a game like UTSA happen. How can you come off beating the number one team in the country and play as bad as you did and defend it afterward? I mean I understand bad games happen, ask Georgia today, but willingly defending sloppy QB play and not holding your team accountable for committing eight penalties to the type of team you played is uncalled for. How can you let your team do that? I just cannot grasp that. The worse part is you go into Neyland the next week and play worse! There's no way you can come out of the UTSA game and have anything more undisciplined than you had the week before. But you do! Eleven penalties for 115 yards is insane! How can that help your struggling offense? I mean they had momentum going in the first quarter, but sloppiness will kill it every time. Sure whatever get the win and go into the bye and rest up and get healthy physically and mentally right? Wrong! Play even worse than the game before! How can that happen?? Just how? I understand it's Red River but what excuse is there to lose that game? How can you not settle your QB down after almost a month since he got rattled by the media and get some good offensive production? That is inexcusable. Not to mention the run game being nothing at all since Ohio State. There should not be a reality where your team plays at the level they do. To quote the late and great coach Augie, "there isn't a single guy on any of the past two teams that Texas has lost too that can come play for us". I mean realistically there is, but my point is, you should have your team running laps around their opponents, especially the two they just played. That issue is coaching! How can they make the same mistakes repeatedly week after week? If you as a coach aren't willing to give up your style of ball, then go out and play for it like you mean it! Why are you still being out played, out coached, out physicaled? Why is that happening? I know! You have become too complacent with mediocrity and its killing this team. Enough with the talk about being good and capable enough. Go out there and prove it! There probably isn't a way where this team magically comes alive offensively in one week. But with your season on the line and what seems to be a top five opponent coming into your house next week, you have to be radically different then the past two weeks. If not, time to hang it up. I have been optimistic with this team becasue I know how much better they truly can play because at least twelve of them will be drafted and play for a good while in the NFL. I'm not questioning the players will to go out and die for this team, but i'm starting to question the decision makers will. How will you respond to this? How can you amend for your teams poor play these past two games? Go out and win. Simple. No more cute stuff. Just bully everyone left on your schedule and control your own destiny. I know this team is capable of doing so, they proved themsevles right on September 12th. Sorry for the rant, Hook'Em! (As i was writing this I watched a way under talented and under allocated BYU team play their style of football and make ND bend to them. Thats what Texas needs. If coach Sark wants his offense to be one way, then coach these players to do so! No more mediocrity should be allowed, the players know it! Instill it!)

If I’m coach Sark this Saturday I’m running at least 65-70 percent of my plays out of ten personnel. The recipe to beat Floridas defense is to spread them out. Just ask SC how they blew them out. I can only begin to imagine this is the breakout game for the offensive side of the ball. I also think Texas needs to find its footing tempo wise this game. They had it running pretty smooth in the last quarter against OSU and the first two against UTSA. Having the ability to play at your pace and will, will certainly give this offense the consistency and confidence it needs.
