  2. I would add that the possible 5-year eligibility rule that they discussed this morning on coffee and football could be a game changer in terms of retention. If Texas can bring back DJ Campbell for a 5th year, it means you don’t have to go into the portal and pay $2 million for an elite interior OL (if that even exists in the portal). It means you potentially have your entire OL back. That could completely alter the portal strategy and the shape of next season.
  3. Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer showed what Florida can be if the right buttons are pushed. If I were Marcus Freeman or someone advising him, I'd have to know what the plans are for the potential administrative changes and what the NIL structure looks like. Commitment to resources is everything in college football now.
  4. How the mighty have fallen. We had an RB room with 5 NFL RBs (Bijan, Roschon, J Brooks, Jayden Blue, Keilan Robinson) not too long ago.
  5. Sark was in preseason mode still trying shiii.
  6. Obviously there is no one correct way to construct a national championship roster. Some programs swear by stacking top-ranked freshman classes, others lean heavily on the transfer portal, and plenty try to swing between the two. What Texas is learning this season is that each path has its strengths — and its pitfalls. Freshman recruits offer long-term upside. They can be developed over multiple seasons into stars who become the backbone of the program. But even five-stars often need time, and the early investment doesn’t always pay off on the field right away. Portal additions, meanwhile, can fill immediate needs and bring experience. They’re the quick-fix solution that can keep a team in contention. The trade-off is short shelf life and roster churn — it’s hard to build identity around players who might only stay a year. The reality is that championships are built on a hybrid model. You need the developmental pipeline of multi-year contributors who know the system, plus targeted transfers who can deliver instant impact. Lean too hard on one side, and you risk either growing pains or instability. Strike the balance, and you’ve got the formula for sustained success.
  7. Because we need a bigger back? Can’t rely on Baxter yet
  8. He can't get both Dallas Wilson and Cam Coleman. Texas can get at least one of them imo
  9. Cody Campbell may do just that.
  10. Niblett is a gagdet player, Simon is a true freshman, and the other 3 are all injured are coming off injuries. We need bodies for practice.
  11. @Blake Munroe is there some kind of running list somewhere that keeps up with all past and present sponsors? Obviously want to support you guys with current sponsors, but want to support past ones as well beyond the original list in this thread. Thanks!
  12. Wisner Baxter (when healthy) Clark Simon Niblet why do we need Terry to move? He’s still learning WR
  13. Lot easier for Sarkisian to get them focus on a game by game basis, because the next loss likely knocks us out of the playoffs.
  14. No way I leave for Penn State if I am Freeman but Florida may be too good to pass up. He can win there and win A LOT with the best talent in the country flocking to him every year. I mean the current team would be winning A LOT if Freeman was their coach, imagine him with a portal window and a couple recruiting classes. Florida would be very tough to turn down.
  15. Today
  16. I dont think RB recruiting has been a problem, but rather an inordinate amount of injuries. You may say "well recruit more RBs", but there is a cap on all of these positions. JMO
  17. I agree, why leave a good thing at ND?
  18. Well if he's going to get canned anyways, might as well go out a winner I guess...
  19. FWIW even Mods on some Florida message boards are saying Sunday he is out win or lose and speculating on interim Coach Gonzales taking over until they hire a new HC. Something is definitely going on when they imply that not that phony Hoop tweet lol. Plus story in USA Today Oct 15 that talks about him being gone soon. Done deal it seems !
  20. In my eyes Penn St is a downgrade from Notre Dame.
  21. I’ll never trust a man who lines his arteries with mayo and shame.
  22. If that’s what it took to get the glorious feeling of seeing Sooner fans file out of the Cotton Bowl halfway through the 4th quarter, I’ll take it all day and twice on Saturdays. 🤘😂
  23. We lost to a coach that is about to be fired. Not a good look.
  24. Get them brinks trucks ready for Dallas Wilson
  25. I'm in agreement, I may be in the minority, but I think the list of jobs that are better than Notre Dame is very short. Penn St. and Florida are not on that list.
