  1. Past hour
  2. To further elaborate: I must have read and taught James Madison's Federalist 10 to students over a hundred times. Of course, Madison wrote the US Constitution. I spent countless hours explaining that, contrary to popular media, the foundation of the US was not based on anthropological egalitarianism, i.e. "equality." Rather it was grounded in property as the necessary practical consequence of cognitive hierarchy. "The diversity in the faculties of men, from which the rights of property originate, is not less an insuperable obstacle to a uniformity of interests. The protection of these faculties is the first object of government. From the protection of different and unequal faculties of acquiring property, the possession of different degrees and kinds of property immediately results; and from the influence of these on the sentiments and views of the respective proprietors, ensues a division of the society into different interests and parties." A student asked me if I could "show" them what this meant. My response was that history shows it, but there isn't an image or series of images that communicates its truth if you don't understand the conceptual basis of its truth.
  3. Concepts, boys, concepts. The concept is more important than the image.
  4. During post game analysis and film breakdown could y’all work it out where you’re able to show footage of the breakdown? I know other content creators show it.
  5. Tyler Atkinson ... just a special LB prospect. But I get where you are with Samari Matthews ... 6-foot-1 corner that has physicality and playmaking. A true corner va. trying to develop a player into a CB.
  6. We're down to 54 days until the Longhorns face off against Ohio State in the season opener. Who is your favorite No. 54 of all time? 54 is a tough one, as it hasn't been a popular number, but a couple of choices include... Mike Baab: Cole Hutson (current No. 54 on the roster):
  7. back to disliking him and his lack of respect
  8. @Bobby Burton @Gerry HamiltonAnother site did a deep dive into current roster economics. Basically concluded that 2026 we will likely have 17 super blue chips on roster…two of which get $$ outside of rev sharing…so 15…if you sssume on average $1 million per, that leaves $2 million (assuming some rev share goes to other sports) for 2026 recruits and non super blue chips on 2026 roster…this just doesn’t work. How in the world are we going to take care of new recruits? Our retained roster is simply too expensive e to recruit at a high level? Thoughts?
  9. Gotta be some type of record lol
  10. Today
  11. Who do you believe is the most critical uncommitted prospect left for Texas to close? Smoke Matthews for me.
  12. 8 days since Blake has been muted
  13. Waldemar has been using their kitchens to provide food for workers and searchers. Brought in generators and have been going around the clock, doing what they can.
  14. I live here. The losses are horrific. Please help in any way possible and pray for those families who have lost loved ones. It’s heartbreaking.
  15. Join us for coffee and Football starting around 8:15 AM. We will discuss the Longhorns and take your questions. &nbsp
  16. https://x.com/marinamedvin/status/1942061883902632164?s=46 this young lady was to attend our University this fall
  17. I do some work at Kerrville ISD. I don’t live there to be clear. Great town school and people. Their soccer coach and wife are gone. Two children missing. Horrific.
  18. They may be busy celebrating on their site, but how about a guest speaker from the opposing site after a loss? We’ll spend enough time beating ourselves up. Might as well see if they have any insights from an opposing view.
  19. Mine hit the ground repeatedly after Colt got hurt against bama... hook'em
  20. Rod is great! I enjoy his insight into the program as a first hand source as much as anything else at OTF. If some of you guys are so negative and can’t see the value in something here, don’t watch that show. It’s pretty simple. Especially if you can’t critically put together that Rod played AT Texas, lived the life of these current players. He is a student of the modern game, played it at the highest level, and has forgotten more about football than most of you could comprehend. Just a note, In anything, if you have someone that has lived it, just shut up and listen to them. Wolrd War 2 veteran, your parents/grandparets, someone who has been through any part of life you haven’t. The best way you can learn about the present is by listening and learning from the past.
  21. The good part about football when I played is no matter what anyone said off the field or did (throw your hat to the floor), you could come back and throw them to the turf that same way during the game. I wouldn’t want to give Simmons, our linebackers, or our upcoming interior D line any reason to do this, when I hadn’t played a down of CF, but these kids are different. Man that made me sound old.
  22. I don’t make post crying about recruiting. It’s a congratulatory post usually. So no my life don’t revolve around it.
