I went with hobby boxes. I got an auto of Jayson Kent and Asia O'Neil in my first box opened. Vince, Derrick Johnson , Arch school colors and a cool Sayna Richard-Ross

Asking the #1 LB in his class to take a paycut is an absolute joke. Shameful
-
sark must get a bonus if he doesn’t spend all the NIL money. we roster building like the cowboys
-
This is the first portal loss that truly bothers me.

What in the real life f is happening to our roster. This one doesn’t make any sense. HOW ARE WE ABOUT TO RUN A 3-3-5 WITHOUT LINEBACKERS?!??

Texas men’s basketball game thread

I would just skip to the 2nd half around the 14 minute mark when he benches most of the team for effort -
Mods would it be possible to pull together an analysis of number of portal entries by big name program. Is the exodus Texas experiencing similar to what other schools are facing? OSU, Bama, UGA, etc. Or are they having better success with quantity of retention? I would say thus far outside of Wisner we haven’t had a huge drop off in frontline starters so Sark is doing okay on the quality retention.

Now we need 3 LBs

The problem with the all in on Arch mindset

Are we really getting all worked up over a slogan? -
I’m having a hard time understanding this. No one is spending NIL like there is a cap. Is Texas the only team playing by the rules. This smells of Oklahoma last year trying to be too cute with money management. What the hell are we doing.
-
I’ll take the blame for the lack of a game thread. I got tied up with something for YouTube channel and then was on the livestream with Bobby and CJ. As of now, I’m still trying to find time to watch the game, which will be my punishment for not putting up the thread.

I checked out when the cut it to ten points. Why? Because Rick Barnes teams do let you bank into the game. Then I took one last look at the players on the floor and said yeah I am going to bed.
-
If true, this is one I truly do not understand. Two LB starters are gone, and a starting role is right there for him if he works hard and continues to improve. ETA: I have no idea about money issues, and if Burton says he is 3rd string, ok. To me it is one more example of current athletes expecting instant gratification and leaving if waiting one’s turn and developing is expected. i know, I am old and coached in a far different era. I thought Barnes had lots of promise, but what do I know.
-
Can Texas and other schools use their powers to initiate change? Because I’m tired of this era lol
-
Has it occurred to anyone that he might not fit what Muschamp wants to do? If he was a huge priority for the new scheme, you’d think Muschamp would have personally met with him like he did for D Williams, and that Texas would have overspent to keep him. But that doesn’t fit the narrative that Texas is falling apart and has no plan.
-
Another cite reporting that we asked him to take a pay cut
-
What’s a potential third string linebacker worth? Or would be second string? I don’t know. But Barnes appears to be willing to test those waters.
-
It’s official he’s in the portal
-
Will say it hasn’t been confirmed yet by OTF but IT announced he is expected to portal. They also said Wardell Mack was going to portal and he didn’t so let’s just hope this is false.
-
Wait, what? Bo Barnes is leaving?

The NFL salary cap exists for one reason and one reason only — the players agreed to it. The league has a union, collective bargaining, and a negotiated trade-off: limits on pay in exchange for revenue sharing, benefits, minimum salaries, free agency rules, and long-term protections. That’s not a loophole. That is the legal foundation. College football has none of that. No union. No CBA. No negotiated cap. No revenue-sharing agreement. So when the NCAA or conferences try to impose NIL “guardrails,” soft caps, or clearinghouses, courts view it as exactly what it is: price-fixing by a cartel without labor consent. You can’t violate a salary cap that doesn’t legally exist. You can’t enforce a “market value” standard that no one agreed to. And you can’t copy-paste pro sports rules into an amateur system that refuses to acknowledge its players as employees. Until players collectively bargain, every NIL restriction is just compliance theater — and the courts have been very clear about that.

He probably got greedy and Texas told him to walk. Was probably going to be in the 2 deep next year

The problem with the all in on Arch mindset

I keep asking: Were we not "all in" before? It must not have been cheap to recruit arch, simmons, ewers and to retain worthy, bijan/roschon and get ad mitchell in the portal. What is different now just because Arch is QB1? We could have won the natty wtih quinn if our running game was more consistent against better teams and if our defense could have stopped Penix and the big plays from OSU. I think most people would pick him over Will Howard. The standard is the standard. we should be all in every year. if not, what are we doing?
