Anthony Davis Jr. is a top 20 lb by most sites, and is the teammate of newly committed Tyler Atkinson. He has been seen in UT gear in photos with Tyler, and is in contact with Coach Nansen... being listed in his top 5. Might we double dip and put those 2 next to Kosi for a killer lb class? Is this why Gerry is so confident we can finish in the top 5 again.. for the 4th consecutive year, in recruiting? How many guys will wanna peel off from other commitments to play with these guys, especially if we add Cooper next week? 🤘🏿

Sark recruits differently....

Extra points for using an adverb correctly in the title. 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿 -
No one has mastered the difficult process of NIL like Sark and Co. The ability to keep current players happy, signing the best of the best, and not spending frivously on a kid who may not hit the field for three years is exceptional. Sark never misses a beat. His smarts, genuine personality, and hardworking staff are all in synch. He recruits kids who are badasses, yet well spoken, from great families, and who want to be Longhorns! We are now in another golden era of Texas football!!

46 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Fav No. 46?
Robert Gilbert replied to Blake Munroe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
IMO, Leaks is the best. Here is a game from 1973 in which he rushed for over 190 yards and two TDs. The quality is poor at times and there is only background music added since it is a coach’s film. -
Texas will be fine. Working on something right now for yall.

Wiltfong always ruing a kids moment. Either put the pick in ahead of time or not at all smh -
I don't think scrambling is the right word. I believe the staff had/has contingency plans based on the draft. It's not ideal, but I don't think they're panicking.
-
Do you think we are now scrambling to find staters in the portal ? I mean losing those two guys would leave significant holes on this team and our ceiling is much lower if we dont

That's accurate. I don't think teams would've drafted guys like Moroknek and Freeman if they thought there wasn't a good chance that they'd sign. I said it in another post, but teams can offer guys drafted in the 11th-20th rounds up to $125K without it counting against their bonus pool for the draft.

46 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Fav No. 46?

My dad left this world standing firmly on the hill that Roosevelt Leaks was the most talented running back to ever play for the Longhorns. -

Roosevelt Leaks was a great player, # 3 in the Heisman voting his junior season and favored to win it his senior season before injuring his knee. Another old timer here - I arrived at UT in 1973 (Leaks' junior year) as a grad student and watched him play a couple of times. Ossai and Jefferson were excellent players for the Horns but Leaks was on a whole 'nother level of excellence. -

A third-and-long against TCU in 2019 when Todd Orlando had him roaming in the middle of the field, 30 yards away from the line of scrimmage, is burned in my brain. Shoutout to Craig Naivar unleashing the dogs on Tyler Huntley in his interim DC role of the bowl game. -

All of these guys were/are great Texas players. Leaks for me as I saw him and Earl in DKR's and Frank Broyles last Texas vs. Arkansas game at Texas Memorial Stadium. I did not really like the steepness of the new upper deck that cost us the oak trees on the western side of the stadium. Oh well. -
Been hearing most of the transfers we just landed and were drafted aren't playing for us next year. A those two position players are big losses for us imo. The high school players and some that were already on our team not really any big losses but those transfers have set us back a bit and will have us looking for replacements if we want to make it to Omaha.

We're aiming to have a draft piece up this morning. There are a few draftees we're not expecting to play for the Longhorns in 2026.

From who I’ve actually seen, Ossai. “You don’t make a race horse run backwards”. Still bugs me that he ever dropped into coverage. Yeah, I know he has an INT or two, but still. His game against Utah in the Alamo bowl and against Okie lite were just absolute demolitions of the opposition that I hadn’t seen since Okafor made the Oregon state RT cry because he couldn’t be blocked and had 4.5 sacks. Unreal. -
