Moderators Blake Munroe Posted March 18, 2024 Moderators Posted March 18, 2024 There was movement in the polls this week for the Longhorns, after dropping 2 of 3 to a Washington team that is just... okay. Unfortunately that movement was all downward, as Texas is no longer ranked in the Baseball America, D1 Baseball or Perfect Game polls. The Horns play five games this week, starting with a two game series against Air Force on Tues-Wed, followed by Baylor in conference play over the weekend. Both series will be in Austin. Air Force is 9-9 on the season and Baylor, who took the series from then ranked No. 23 Texas Tech over the weekend, is 7-12. Texas HAS to rebound this week. If not, it could get ugly. The Big 12 is down this year in baseball. The three teams poised to make the most noise have been... well... awful for the most part. Somehow, however, the Horns are in a three-way tie for third place. A sweep over the Bears would really help out. 3 Quote
McCoy2Shipley Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 LBJ-Ace-Grubbs is your rotation. That's the positive out of this weekend I'm taking away from this weekend is that the rotation is now set. That helps hugely 1 Quote
GoHorns1 Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 (edited) Texas doesn’t deserved to be ranked. Edited March 18, 2024 by GoHorns1 Quote

Fonenot, Boehm, and Duplantier are all showing good things. Hopefully Luke Harrison and Witt can start to put it together. If that happens this team could look completely different in a few weeks. And while I’m hoping maybe Pierce will save Tuesdays for Shaw to work on his game. Friday night isn’t the time to bring in a reliever that has 6 walks in 7 innings. 4 Quote
