    Before the season Schloss said he wanted to see 100 less strikeouts this season. Yesterday he was visibly aggravated by the repeated strikeouts at the same breaking ball regardless of what SC pitcher was throwing it. I’ve watched baseball long enough to know there’s not much that is definite but I’m confident the staff will address the strikeouts. Huge weekend series up next in CS. 🤘🤘

    Horns with 15 strikeouts at the plate. That’s gotta improve if they want to make postseason play.

    We’ve been seeing all the signs that this was coming. I’m actually surprised he’s not out for the season. I would really like to see Borba stay at first. I’ll admit I was concerned pre-season about his lack of experience at first but he’s been really good overall this season. His ball IQ is a big factor in his success in my opinion. Either way there’s going to be a new player in the infield. First gets a lot more action than third does.

    I was hoping A Rod would sit tonight and rest his hand. Guess one night off doesn’t make much difference.

    Thanks Blake! I’m not too concerned with where the Horns are ranked at this point. They have a great team no doubt but there’s still things that need to be worked on like getting Mendoza’s bat back on track, somehow figure out when A Rod can sit a series and give his hand a break, and most importantly get the back end of the pen on track. Moving Volantis to a starter role created a hole in the back end of the pen that hasn’t been filled yet.

    A lot of it had to do with the environment and lack of experience (freshman). Burns is and has been that way even going back to when he was at Arizona State. I don’t think he can be fixed. The others should learn and grow. I’m not expecting this to happen in one week though. I completely expect more struggles this weekend with another really good team in OU.

    Not at all surprising the majority of their staff at D1 either don’t like or hate Texas.

    Schloss spent a lot of time in the offseason getting this team to come together. I've seen clips of the team hanging out at the lake, bowling, etc. All that work in the offseason clearly shows in my opinion.

    Kinda frustrating considering he dove for a foul ball he really had no shot at and came up a foot short. At least that appeared to be when he hurt it as he got up slowly.

    Yeah this is not a bad team. They were a 40 win team last season.

    I have much respect for Roger Wallace as a sports caster. I don’t know him personally but it’s obvious he’s a great person. But dang he talks quiet when he calls a game. If there’s an option the volume on his mic needs to be turned up.

    Hate that. I see there’s still lightning in the area. If the game does resume I think it’d be at least another 30-45 minutes.

    This team is no slouch. Schloss said their 3 weekend starters graded out as starting SEC pitchers. Couple that with the stiff wind that’s already kept at least 2 balls from leaving the yard and it’s that kinda day.

    That explains why A Rod kicks at the pitcher this season like Kimble did last season. Kimble was gritty!

    Yep. He made another great play holding the runner at 3rd before stepping on the bag. He has a high baseball IQ.
