Burnt Orange Horn Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 (edited) It says a lot about reputed fans who complain when a player does not recover fast enough from major reconstruction surgery for their liking. Hopefully such fans will soon find another home. 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿 Edited December 8, 2025 by Burnt Orange Horn 3 1 1 Quote
Quinncent McManning, Jr. Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 (edited) I’m not too quick to judge what Baxter has left in the tank. Yes there are stories like Jonathan Gray out there, but some of you guys would have given up on Jordan Shipley and Bo Scaife, not to mention J Whitt. Plus Baxter is by all accounts a great influence in the locker room. With the expanded roster I’m not relying on him to be a rb1 next year but he deserves some time to rehab more if wants to stay. Honestly 2025 was worse than 2024 because he kept soaking up carries and wasting plays and possessions. Even against A&M he just went 6 carries for 10 yards while Wisner was 19-155. (And Wisner is a kind of limited RB himself), Even before the injury he was less than 5 ypc in 2023. It's nothing personal but you can't go into next season hoping for this guy to be the answer again. We need someone proven in the portal. Edited December 8, 2025 by whereiend 2 1 1 Quote

What he will be next year is all about if he can recover some of the explosiveness he once had. His injury was one that is hard to come back, from the little research I did on it. Not sure he'll ever get it back to where it needs to be but I think he might've pushed himself back too early this year and then got another injury on top of that. Hope he fully heals over the off-season and we see what he can do next year, if he decides to stay. 1 Quote

Raistlin Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Hopefully, this helps retain Wisner. He would be the presumptive starter (or at least co-starter if we get a RB1 in the Portal). Baxter leaving clears the deck for more carries and more NIL. Wisner is a Day 3 pick in the NFL Draft based mainly on his special teams ability for a RB3. Another year in college with NIL won’t hurt and could increase his draft stock. Quote
