None of these kids want 2nd team money. They all believe they are good enough to be starters, especially when they are guys in front of them not catching balls and not getting open. French is a big 5-star loss. Texas can't keep this up. Screw the rules. Pay over to keep your own players.

What happens when you recruit 5 stars and give zero snaps to practically all year long. It’s either 1. Lack of opportunity, or if you say “he just wasn’t good enough to see the field” then it is 2. A horrible evaluation out of high school

Gerry has always said the kids from florida need time to develop because they are so behind Texas and other states with high school developmental programs.  Ffrench wasn't willing to wait.

They are purging money that is sitting on the bench. What is the problem with this? Lockett, Terry, Ffrench sitting on the bench making too much money. All the freshmen that came in got the same amount on revenue share + a signing bonus. This year they are only getting the base revenue share amount and no signing bonus. Ffrench was not a top5 receiver on the team so why pay him like a top 5? Welcome to NIL team economics.

There is going to be a reckoning in how big schools approach high school recruiting from this mass exodus. I'm not sure there is any point in big schools signing anywhere close to 25 high school recruits each cycle when you're virtually guaranteed to lose 10-15 of them the very next offseason. Let them go to smaller programs and then cherry pick the ones that emerge. Don't waste roster spots on freshmen who won't contribute for two years.

Hoping that someone steps up and pushes college football in a different direction because this absolutely stinks.

Yay we suck less than ND. Moral victory central, we are losing Good players by the day (Zima today) and not replacing them or addressing areas of need like OL. It seems like we have a serious problem with how our GM and Player personnel departments are structured. The fact that it looks like Muschamp wasn’t informed of the Bo Barnes situation by Harris until he jumped into the portal is a problem, it never should have gotten to that point. Yes. Highschool recruiting is not what it once was. Get your 10-15 guys and put the rest of the money to the portal.

Two of them were probably going to be playing this next year. And no not just because of three guys, it’s three guys I was very high on. I’m just disappointed with everything. No point in getting excited in high school recruiting anymore. Something I had a lot of fun with.

If that’s the case we should stop recruiting those guys. Paid him tens of thousands maybe hundreds of thousands to come to Texas for a year and he contributed absolutely nothing.

OSU just lost a 5 star freshman WR too. Ffrench is 6th on the depth chart. Can’t blame him.

Respectfully, lol, why? Ffrench couldn't get on the field and his issues were highlighted by OTF all year. He was getting paid A LOT of money to sit on the bench and not develop.
