  1. I had about 4 classes with Earl when I was a freshman and Sophomore. I even sat with him a few times. He knew my dad who wrote a sports column and so I had an in. He was a gentle nice guy off the field, and he never missed a class. He'll always be my favorite Longhorn, but VY is not far behind.
  2. You didn't do anything wrong. I left IT because of this thin-skinned nonsense. All you did that upset the natives was drop a name and info from the competition, which happens on here all the time. Most of the time, it's to ridicule them, but nonetheless, it happens. I'm not sure why this time it was so egregious that it required the verbal whipping. The fact is,s it is very well possible someone else out there on the Internet might have info we may want to know as well. It makes for good discussion.
  3. No kidding. My M4 Benelli 12-guage would be my tool of choice.
  4. I want to meet the person brave enough to stand over the helmet and puor water in it to force the snake out. They would have had to give me one of those 5ft. grabbers with a pistol grip.
  5. That is what I was asking myself. I bet procedures change. Is it legal to keep mongoose in the equipment room?
  6. https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/49585268/high-school-football-player-arkansas-finds-viper-helmet This high school football player during preseason practice played nearly an hour before feeling something moving in his helmet. When he took the helmet to the trainer, they found a 2-foot cottonmouth snake behind the padding. There kid got a new helmet and went back to practice. Me, I would have needed therapy, and then gone out for basketball.๐Ÿ˜
  7. Ok, that makes sense. The ESPN article completely left that part out. So, essentially the time for the punt and fair catch stop at zero, but the other team gets an offensive play at time 00:00, but only if that play is a field goal try. Sounds like a silly rule. How do you justify the need for that rule?
  8. From an ESPN article on NCAA rule changes: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/49584440/college-football-changes-include-tweaks-targeting-opi-rules ["In a change to align Division I rules with those in the NFL and high school, a team could choose to attempt a fair catch kick after a completed or awarded fair catch. The kick would be a place kick with a holder or a drop kick from the spot where the returner caught the ball. The defense would be at least 10 yards from the spot of the kick. If the ensuing kick goes through the uprights, it would be worth three points. The rarely used play last came up in the NFL in 2024 when the Los Angeles Chargers' Cameron Dicker converted from 57 yards against the Denver Broncos. ] I'm not getting this rule at all. If someone punts to you and you fair-catch the ball, why would you ever kick it immediately unless no time was on the clock? And isn't it already legal to try a field goal on 1st down? Why the need for this rule if that is true? HOOK'EM ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿงก
  9. When PK was hired, I read a good article on his defensive style and terminology. Has anyone seen a thread or article on the defense Muschamp runs today and the terminology he uses? I keep hearing Bobby and the other OTF personalities referring to something called an overhang linebacker. I'm not familiar with that term.
  10. Thank you. That is really devastating news for me. No wonder why he was not returning my calls, texts, and emails.
  11. Thanks for all the private messages on Bill guys, and all of you doing searches. Big loss. I was shown a really nice post/thread on IT by Joe Cook about Bill, but since I don't belong there any longer I didn't see it when it came out back in the early spring. I want to leave this message/prayer: If you know someone hurting, tell them to reach out to their loved ones and friends that love them. Also, reach out to your friends and loved ones more often than not. Tell them you love them and you are always there for them no matter what.
  12. Does anyone in OTF know Bill? At one time, he was in the top 5 of LHF donors and had an East Side 50-yard line suite. He was my little brother in my fraternity, and I have not been able to get a hold of him. Last time he retired my email and texts was last fall. I'm not sure if he belonged to OTF. I know he did have an account over at IT at one time or another. Thanks!
  13. Bussey is a talented dude. Five-star; I compare him to Jermaine Bishop. A super-fast and twitchy WR that Aggy will use in multiple ways this year. Like Bishop, he's done a little of everything at 2A Timpson. He didn't face the same competition, but it's the measurables and skill set that are similar. He is supposed to be a class act too.
  14. So, do you think the non contact knee injuries like this are previous undiagnosed years that created weak areas and then just the right stress pops them clean? It's crazy how often this and tendon years happen in non contact drills. Didn't we have a TE back in Mack's early years that missed two years due to camp injuries?
