Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 15 hours ago Moderators Posted 15 hours ago 2027 Waco Midway RB Lathan Whisenton has committed to Notre Dame. The 5-foot-11-inch, 195-pound running back took a visit to Austin on March 13th and had been a common name atop of the running back board. Whisenton has an official visit scheduled for June 12 to Texas, though we will see if that still takes place. The Irish hosted Whisenton for an unofficial visit on Tuesday, and things went well enough for him to make a verbal commitment. *** Texas RB Officials June 5th – Noah Roberts, Chandler (AZ) Basha High June 12th – SaRod Baker, DeSoto (TX) High June 12th – Lathan Whisenton, Waco (TX) Midway HIgh ... Committed to Notre Dame OVs to watch for – Brennen Lacey, RB, Frisco (TX) High – Landen Williams-Callis, Richmond (TX) Randle High 7 Quote

Red Five Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Anyone else feel like we're in on a handful of RBs who are all pretty much interchangeable, in terms of quality? 1 Quote

Earlier this week a Hank South article titled "Identifying Texas football's top target at each position: Offense" had this to say about the RB position - Lathan Whisenton, RB, Waco (Texas) Midway or Landen Williams-Callis, RB, Richmond (Texas) Randle 1A and 1B if you ask us. The Longhorns are going to sign at least two running backs in the class of 2027 and these two could very well be the guys. Whisenton is trending to Texas, if you ask me, with plenty of suitors trying to keep up with Texas. He was on campus for an unofficial visit on March 13 and will be back for an official visit June 12-14. (/quote) No need to worry, plenty of other similar RB targets, but saying he wasn't a priority when OTF just named him a top target seems odd. Quote

He had solely state of Texas OVs scheduled last time we talked to him, think he added Florida into that mix as well. Went up to South Bend and committed. Great kid for the Irish. Texas liked him a lot and I would have considered him a top tier target. But plenty of guys like LWC, Noah Roberts, SaRod Baker and others. Also hosted Frisco RB Brennen Lacey this week as well. 3 1 Quote
