Sure. But SEC arms are a little different than the Big West. 

38 of 41 hits in 2026 were singles. I will say having more walks than strikeouts is a fantastic trait. Would be fine in the 9-hole to lead into the top of the order for Pack, Armstrong, Solitaria, Rodriguez. Though I suspect there’s another OF addition and we see him essentially as the 4th OF option.

I completely agree with you. He most likely will not be able to maintain that level of production against better competition. And we would prefer to find hitters who can hit for both power and average. I agree. 

My point is that if someone has a .489 OBP with only singles and walks they will definitely start and be batting lead off. The only Longhorn who has had a better OBP since 2013 was Ivan Melendez in his monster year, and that is just as far back as I can look. Someone who gets on base almost half the time is a perfect table setter for your power hitters. And you don’t stash him in the nine hole where you won’t see him until the second or third inning. You want him at the plate (and on base) as much as possible.
