That’s a good question. There’s been a lot of talk about changing the draft rules, but nothing has actually been approved or scheduled yet. MLB and the MLBPA have discussed the idea of pushing high‑school players toward college or the minors first, but it’s still just a proposal at this point. I don't know where this stands at this point. Believe @Blake Munroe would know. So for now(i think), clubs can still draft straight out of high school, and a prospect like Klug would be eligible the same way every other prep player is. If the league ever does move forward with that rule, it’ll change the calculus for kids with his kind of size and velocity, but don't think we’re not there yet. Quote
