Thoughts on the SEC vs B10 Debate

On the conferences debate:

- End of the day doesn’t move the needle in any direction for anyone, I just like the debate because it’s fun to watch people meltdown over it. 

- SEC is the most entertaining conference by a wide margin. At least a game or two each window that’s a great watch. Competitive balance and wide-spread talent across the league.

- SEC records will lie this year. Good teams will have worse records.

- National media will continue to tell us that the B10 (4-9 against the rest of p4) is the better conference but there are only like 6 games all year that are a fun competitive game with top talent. the top three teams will stand alone at the top again. Records will say they are the best.

- In every other sport and in my opinion, the conference that has the most competitive teams should be considered the best. That’s the SEC. The record will show that the league is worse because it’s going to canabalize itself like crazy.

- Arkansas and Vandy are the only bottom dwellers in the SEC other than them, any team can beat any team in the SEC on the right night (Texas A&M and Oklahoma are fighting to stay out the basement)

- Ideal for balance but terrible for the sport, b10 drops the bottom 5 teams and adds more competitive programs. ND and Miami in the b10 would make them the best conference by a MILE!!

Other Week 3 take aways:

- There are no elite teams. There are elite players. There are elite position groups and offenses/defenses but there a no elite top to bottom teams.

- Notre Dame, Miami, Indiana and Georgia are the only teams left that can prove me wrong on that account but not enough info

- Texas is a top 15 team, not a top 5 team until they find consistency on offense. Arch is back in a mental slump and needs to shake it off. I think he will. But I hope it doesn’t take a loss to Tennessee or OU to happen. 

- Ole Miss is a top 5 team because of Chambliss alone. LSU is not as scary as I thought. Mississippi State is scarier than OU and A&M right now.

Big 10 cheated to give Michigan a win vs Western Michigan. 
 

Also if the big 10 was worth anything, gameday would maybe be there.
