How much does the draft affect recruiting

Recommended Posts

It's hard to quantify how much it helps. But it most certainly does.

Every single player Texas recruits aspires to be a future NFL player. Every single one of them.

Seeing 11 guys in a single year achieve that dream says a lot. The proof is in the pudding. It's not just a fairy tale.

Ultimately, it will continue to mean more and more if the quantity and frequency of Longhorns going in the draft stays high over the next couple of years. That's the goal. Become one of the very few to win on the field and deliver results to players via the NFL draft.

It will be a part of conversations with recruits for the next cycle. Every time you see Texas post on social media regarding the draft, this will be brought up.

No longer will teams be able to negatively recruit the 'development' of players at Texas with 11 players being selected in just year three of Sarkisian and his staff at Texas.

It is going to help.

I would argue that it probably is going to help also because there will be more opportunity to offer scholarships.  More quivers to shoot so to speak.  So long as the development stays steady it should be beneficial.
