Texas fan in Georgia
With the unfortunate injury to CJ Baxter we know the offensive gameplan is gonna be tweaked. Could we see Texas lean more pass heavy on offense this year? With the amount of talent at WR and a 3 year QB it may be necessary. also, do we think Texas has a guy on the roster that could make an emergency move to RB if the situation arises? Like Gerry said earlier chances are other RBs will get banged up throughout the year and numbers seem thin in that room all of a sudden

Like Gerry said earlier chances are other RBs will get banged up throughout the year and numbers seem thin in that room all of a sudden I had thought about this, I like Niblack getting a couple of touches in the backfield a la Brock Bowers. Also I was banging this drum in the Spring and it just became that much more important, Quinn Ewers, maybe even more than improving his deep ball, needs a red zone fastball this season. SuperDave0805
Will probably see less power running plays at least until the coaches feel one of the freshmen is ready So probably more quick lateral passes to the WR and letting them get get some yds that way
Raistlin
Don’t panic. Keep your offense mainly the same. Replace Baxter with Gibson if he can be serviceable in pass protection. There will not be much drop-off with Gibson running the inside zone. Let Blue play generally as you planned to do with Baxter; maybe let Blue run a little more outside zone. The worst thing Sark could do is try to make Blue the primary ball carrier. That would take Blue away from what he does best (playing the second back in 21 personnel, moving to the slot), make him a square peg in a round hole at primary ball carrier and likely get him hurt. Gibson (Emmitt Smith lite) can handle Baxter’s role if he can pass protect 🙏 Edited August 8 by Raistlin
NothinButDaHorns34
Why are people acting like baxter is some game changer RB? He was serviceable last year and possible could’ve had his second year jump, But we’ll never know now. This offense will STILL be explosive with or without him.
